To say that David was completely and totally freaked out would be the biggest understatement ever made. This was crazy. And every time he'd managed to breathe again after digesting another piece of information - minotaur, vampires, alternate dimensions - another one came piling on.
Until Alexis finally came and got him - he'd been sitting on the steps with his knees pulled up to his chest and his face hidden there because if he saw any Harry Potter characters or anything he was going to lose his entire mind. He'd taken his cup of tea and let himself be led toward her apartment, taking deep and slow breaths and sipping at his tea and very carefully only looking at the back of Alexis's head.
Her hair looked good, at least.
Finally they were in Alexis's place and David felt reasonably confident that there wouldn't be any vampires or minotaurs and he hovered near the door for a few beats before he bent to take his shoes off, too.
"Yes, mmhmm," he confirmed. "Yes, I would like all the booze." He waved his hand slightly, the one that wasn't holding the tea. "Tea is just not cutting it right now. This is a dream, right? Some nightmare? Something from the cafe isn't sitting well and now I'm having some kind of bad-salmon-fever-dream situation and I'm going to wake up to puke any time now?"
