When I was at Harvard, there were several stores that bought back books with a higher percentage for store credit so the money stays within your shop rather than going somewhere else. You also don't have to buy back everything, just what you curate at your store and you think would sell again. It's a pretty easy model, and sell-through is higher than most since you're not buying books at cost.
