Welcome to the wedding of Jack Zimmermann and Eric Bittle, henceforth known as the Bittle-Zimmermanns or better yet, Zimbits, officially. (If it could have been put on the Vallo marriage license, it would have happened.) The ceremony was held in a small clearing of the forest just outside the Crossed Quills, delicately lit and beautifully modest to appease both grooms with its lush atmosphere and understated decorations. Everything thematically arranged in blue and silver (and if it looks suspiciously like Falcs colors, it was a happy coincidence, okay?) Don’t worry about being cold in the outdoors setting, Lardo’s literal magic of wedding planning accounted for heaters for even the chilliest guests.
Officiated by Glenn's cousin Jemkar, be prepared to see Bitty speak some flawless Quebecois. Be prepared for Jack to get a little weepy, and whisper back some words of encouragement and love in Quebecois in return. Be prepared to cry with how absolutely sweet these two are. There is a symbolic knot tying inside a circle of flower petals placed there by all members of the wedding party—to show the metaphorical support of the Zimbits union underneath a trellis made of enchanted butterflies and magic fairy lights.
Love is love is love! (Tissues provided at the end of each row, take generously.)
And while the ever-moving trees seemed to behave during the entirety of the procession and vows, once members of the wedding party left the area, the glade moved on and disappeared. So please take everything with you before heading to the Quills for the reception or you may spend the evening looking for the path back!
The reception is a fancy version of a Haus party. No really. Open bar, pie bar, bagel bar, and a three-tiered cake that was a physical-and-edible representation of the marriage of Jack and Bitty (a little maple, a little buttercream, all sweet.) There is dancing! There are heartfelt speeches! There are embarrassing hockey stories! There is copious picture taking (please sign the guestbook with your adorable selves in photographic form!) And, you bet your butts, there is a surprise flashmob to Love on Top. As soon as the music starts playing, Jack will be pushing Bitty down into a chair by the dance floor, and thanks to a few weeks of lessons, will manage a minute of matching choreography, before pulling in his backup dancers in the form of Shitty and Nursey. Following that, Bitty will get pulled in and there’s some sappy tears and everyone is welcome to be convinced that they invented romance at this point.
Jack and Bitty made sure to come by every table and profusely thank everyone for attending. And some time in the middle of the party, after toasts but before the big goodbye, you might have caught the newlyweds quietly slow-dancing outside the inn.
