"It's scholarship money," Nursey shrugged. He'd earned a little extra cash through the theater and was trying to sell some of his writing on the side, but he still wasn't especially great at being practical about money. Sure, he had way less of it now, but he had pretty much everything he needed to get by. "Besides I worried that if I didn't keep up with school, I'd get sent back and not remember a damn thing."
Picking up his plate, he nudged Dex with a shoulder and gestured into the barn. "Look, you don't have to figure it out today. Come play Battleship or something?" He took a few steps backward, pulling annoyingly at Dex's sleeve as he went. "I promise you can still overthink this tomorrow."
