She did a quick clothing check, everything was in place. Not that that would have been bad, just awkward. She took a few moments to watch him sleep. He looked peaceful, like his time with the Guardians had done him good, she hoped it had. She'd have to ask how long he'd been gone.
Valkyrie curled her toes into the bed and yawned.
Catching the shirt automatically, Thor caught his breath and then looked away, telling himselfShe sees you like she'd see a random person in the locker room. cool it, before you blow it. As soon as Val left, he got in the shower, turned the water to freezing cold and forced the blood back to his brain. After a few minutes, he stepped out, dried off and got dressed. He walked into the kitchen, "Can I do anything?"
Valkyrie didn't quite see him that way but it was the best way to handle it. She was in the kitchen, she had music playing, and the Valkyrie? Was singing as she flipped eggs. Her long hair was done in tiny braids left loose so they swayed as she moved, brushing against the middle of her back. Her voice fit the genre, and she seemed in a good mood. She turned and looked surprised to see him, though he knew as well as she did she'd heard him coming before he left the shower. She paused, "plates." She pointed to the cupboard. Then resumed.
The sheer force of her personality often made Thor forget how tiny Valkyrie was. He looked down at their hands, his dwarfing her much smaller one. His eyes met hers, "I would do anything for you, Hilde."
' Thor loaded the dishwasher quietly and went back to the table, "Valkyrie, do not toy with me. You keep many things to yourself." He ran a hand through his hair. "You know that I find you beautiful and that I wanted to kiss you before I left New Asgard," He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the door jam, "What more do I need to say?"
Valkyrie laughed softly, "I do. That's fair. But if I'm thinking about things, I more or less speak my mind. I do not, however, toy with anyone." She put her feet down with a thud, pushing up. She moved easily across the distance, this was her field and she certainly owned it. She stopped in front of him, hands coming up to frame his face. She leaned up, pulling his face down to hers, pressing her lips to his with no hesitation.
"It's the kind of question I should have asked before I jumped on a spaceship with a guy obsessed with his missing girlfriend, a rabbit and a talking tree." Thor tugged her closer, "If I stay here, I'm going to want to do more of this." He leaned down and kissed her again, nipping at her lower lip before he pulled away.
“Alas, you did not.” she pointed out with a soft smirk, she had missed him while he was gone. She hadn’t expected to miss him as much as she had. “I cannot imagine what that was like.” she said with a huff of a laugh. She looked up at him as he pulled her closer, “Oh, I think that that can be arranged.” she nipped back as she laughed, shaking her head at him. “I can’t say I’ll mind.”
"I didn't," he grinned at her, "And I regretted it more than once." Thor wanted to push her up against the wall and slide his hand underneath her shirt and explore every inch of skin he'd gotten a glimpse of earlier. He also didn't want to rush in and fuck thing up. Tracing the delicate line of her jaw with his finger tip, Thor stared down at her dark eyes, "You'll kick me out if you need space?"
Knowing her, she’d likely tempt him right off the edge at some point. But she behaved for the time being because she too did not want to fuck anything up. He’d only been here a day, she wasn’t sure if either of them were just overly happy to see the other. Some things were fine, others would wait. “Poor dear. Regrets are so awful.” she smirked, caught her lip in her teeth, brows lifted, amused. “Do you think I will not?” she laughed, “I work, I have friends - I know that last one is really hard to imagine hush - I am more than capable of either throwing you out the door on your ass or making time for me.”
"They are." He shrugged a little and let go, "I'm glad you've made a good life for yourself here." He smiled at her and decided that he'd stay with her until the nightmares stopped and then figure out what to do next. It hit him that he, too, needed to rebuild an entire life. The thought made him tired. "Do you want to go with me to get some clothes?"
She smiled a little when he let go, then nodded. “Well, what else was I going to do? Be a hermit. That worked for like… six hours. Then there were t-rexes so I guess that doesn’t actually count.” she grinned widely, “but I mean, I more or less go to work, come home, though Natasha and co dragged me out the other night.” She winced a little at that. That had been so awkward for her. “Let’s go do that.” she walked by, nudging him with a shoulder playfully, before she grabbed her other boots from by the door to put on.
"Didn't say I expected otherwise, just glad that it's a good life." He pulled on his boots and followed her, "Tell me about your work."
"Torunn mentioned the defense teams, I'll have to check it out." He wondered what had made her look so tense for a minute. He inhaled the ocean air and looked around the eerily silent village. "What the hell is paintball?"
"Val, I'm not going to try and join the same team you're on," Thor laughed, "I've had an annoying kid brother, I don't need to be one." I need to figure out how many teams there are to figure out if there is one where I'm not going to be annoying the shit out at least one person, Thor thought as he followed Val towards his house. Seeing how her face lit up, he couldn't help but smile, "Sounds like something we'd be good at."
"Good. That means in team building competitions I can kick your ass." A shadow crossed her eyes though, she'd almost gotten used to him calling her Hilde that Val sounded so weird to her. She paused outside his house, stuffing that feeling down. "It is. I did pretty well once I figured it out. You'll like it." She went quiet for a moment, "go on, you don't need me on your heels while you find clothes."
Thor looked at her curiously, "What's wrong?"
"Val sounds so… " she shrugged a bit, she didn't really know how to describe it. Or admit it. She kind of hated herself for how fast she'd caved on being called by her name. She gave him a smile, "go on or I'll pick for you."
Thor knew a bullshit smile when he saw one, he'd been plastering them on his face for most of his life, "Are you okay if other people hear me call you Hilde?" He opened the door to the house and despite its cleanliness, felt swamped by the misery he'd felt living there. "Help me pick, I want to get the fuck out of here."
"I… go ahead. It doesn't matter. No one else gets to actually call me that." She followed him inside, she knew where everything was, of course she did. She rifled through the drawers. "Okay, we can do that."
Grabbing a duffle, Thor began shoving things into it and then held it out to Hilde, "Put it in here." He frowned, debated saying something and decided that in this room, where Hilde had held a puke bucket for him, there was no reason to be anything other than blunt. "Hilde, don't bullshit me. It does matter." He sat down on the bed and pulled her to stand between his legs, "Talk to me."
Valkyrie plucked things to put in the bag when he sat down on the bed and tugged her to stand between his legs. She looked down at him, dropping the shirt she had picked up. "I've had years to think," she started carefully, she remembered all the times she'd held a bucket for him or cleaned up afterwards, "I regret letting you go. I don't want to hear Val or Valkyrie come from your lips."
Thor went still, it had not occurred to him that Hilde would ever reciprocate his feelings. He looked up at her, "You will always be my Hilde, then." He looked around the room, remembering just how many times she'd soothed him. He wanted to do the same for her. "Hilde, I will not leave you again." He pressed her fingers to his lips, "I think we should have spent more time in bed this morning." His smile was rueful.
She bit back her embarrassment. She was not usually one to bare her feelings to the world. It was hard enough to admit them to herself. Her smile was genuine this time. "Good." She hadn't expected how much she'd hated hearing Val from him. She watched him, eyes dark, thoughtful. "You better not. I don't think I could handle that." Then she laughed softly, "should we have?"
When they stepped back into the warmth of Val's house, Thor exhaled and dropped the duffle, and pulled off his boots, "Hey, you okay?" He wondered if being back at his place had reminded her what a burden he'd been, "You having second thoughts?"
Valkyrie pulled her boots off and tossed them into a corner. She blinked up at Thor. "Norns no." She rolled her eyes, "I'm having trouble telling myself it's okay to be vulnerable sometimes but I am not having second thoughts."
"We aren't very good at this, are we?" Thor searched Hilde's face, "You only have to be as vulnerable as you are ready to be."
"Thor." She started before she started laughing, running a hand over her face, "we are Asgardian. We are absolutely shit at being vulnerable." Then she quieted, "I have pushed everyone away for so long. Oh I have friends, but ask how many really know me?" She smiled at him, "I can't promise I'm good at everything, but I try." She smiled again, a touch lopsided. ,
His laugh was genuine, "It is not something our people excel at it, is it?" He stood awkwardly for a minute, hands in his pockets. "When you cried out last night, it felt good to be able to go to you and hold you. Can we just start there?" The vulnerability in her face made his chest tighten, he wanted to see her laugh, wanted to suggest that they drink until the fragile feeling that Asgardians loathed disappeared….. a part of him knew that it would be the worst thing they could do.
"Mmm no, we are not good at that." She ran a hand over her face, then let out a breath. She stepped forward, grabbing his hand to tug him up the stairs. "Key is to start there then. Minus the nightmare bit, though I think it would best." She looked over at him as they got upstairs.
He exhaled as she settled in next to him, he laced his fingers through hers and brought their hands to his chest. Pressing a careful kiss to her forehead, he closed his eyes and murmured, "You feel so good."
She looked at their hands for a moment, then smiled as she got comfortable. "Is that so?" She asked as she lazily tangled a leg through his. The contact felt good.
"Yeah," His breath hitched as her leg slid against him, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, "Can't you tell?"
A quiet, knowing smirk curled her lips. "Oh, I can tell." Her fingers idly traced designs over his skin as she laid her head on his shoulder. She was behaving, for now, she wanted to be sure they both wanted this, that it wasn't just both of them needing something. She pressed a kiss to his shoulder.
"Was that Daguz and Wunjo?," Thor asked as her fingers traced over him, "We don't have to do anything but this, Hilde." He stroked her hair back from her face and exhaled slowly, feeling the tension in his shoulders ease.
Val grinned up at him, "Aye," she repeated them slowly, her touch ghost light. Dark eyes glinted for a moment as she changed it up, "Good, I want to … I want to be sure. I feel sure." She said softly, kissing his shoulder again, "gods above, why is it the moment we all start feeling things we turn into awkward teenagers?" She laughed softly.
"Because we are Asgardian and we are good at fucking and fighting, but feelings are harder." he traced Algiz along her side. He smiled, "You are too important to risk regret, Hilde."
She sighed softly, eyes half closed as he drew against her side. "You forgot that we are good at drinking." Her lips curled into a grin, her fingers carefully drawing Naudiz in. She needed this, this touch, this warmth against her. "Good, Thor, I'm glad." She leaned up to press a soft kiss to his lips.
He kissed her slowly, forcing himself to keep it gentle, Thor shifted and stifled a groan as her breasts pressed against him through the soft knit of her shirt. He stilled his hand before it slid under her shirt. "We are very good at drinking," Thor's voice was raspier than he expected, he took a deep breath, "I want you so much right now," his laugh was rough, "But I need to tell you how much I missed you when I was gone."
She pressed herself against him, lips soft against his, she liked his kisses. But she stilled, pressed against him. She paused to lick her lips, shifting a little. "How much did you miss me?" She asked, her voice darker than she meant it to be, she wanted him so badly, but she forced herself to stay still.
Thor closed his eyes for a minute, "I missed the way you bite your lip sometimes when you're thinking and your laugh." He kissed her again resisting the urge to bury his lips against her neck. "I missed you enough that Rocket threatened to put foul things in my bed if he heard your name again."
Asgardians had impulse control issues and she was having a hard time, she refused to break her word though. She wanted to be sure that this wasn't just a momentary desire. If they could wait, she was determined to. "I do not bite my lip when I think." That was a lie, she very much did. "Oh, my, that is a lot. Goodness, I feel special." She looked up at him, smiling softly. "I hoped you would come back sooner rather than later, it didn't feel quite like home without you."
"Yes, you do, Hilde," He smiled back at her, "And I thought about everything I wanted to do with you when I came home." Thor kissed the corner of her mouth and then couldn't stop himself from tasting her lower lip with the tip of his tongue. He drew back slowly, "But that can wait." He drew in a ragged breath and blew it out, "We might need to talk about Asgardian history or the mathematics of the tesseract."
She relaxed slowly, licking her lip from where he kissed her. She drew in a long breath, letting it out slowly. "One minute." She slipped from bed, digging through her clothes and pulling pants that were comfy to sleep in on. Minimize the temptation. She slid back into bed. "Our history is long, tedious and full of war." She said as she settled back down against him.
"It is,' Thor agreed, "Hilde, I want you to touch me so fucking bad right now." He laughed, "I don't want to be an asshole, but maybe if we talk about our feelings that will help. When Jane used to talk about our feelings it usually killed the mood." Thor brushed his lips over hers again.
Valkyrie looked pained as she didn't move her hands at all. "I'm feeling like fucking you would be a great evening plan." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "But I missed you, I don't know how to talk about my feelings or anything." She groaned. "We can do this, we are adults and I'm by far older, and wiser " she started laughing at herself.
"We can," Thor smiled at her. "It will be a hell of a lot easier though if I stay out of your bed." He leaned over and kissed her lightly, sat up and grabbed his pants.
Valkyrie sighed, "you're right of course." She watched him then rolled over into her back as he got up. She stared out the big window, "you'll stay in the house with me though?"
He finished getting his jeans on, "As long as you want me to. If you have a nightmare, I'll sit with you until you fall back asleep." Thor stood and ran a hand over his head and grabbed his shirt from the floor. "I'm sorry, Hilde. I'll keep myself in check." He turned and smiled at her. "I'll go get my stuff and put it in the other bedroom,". He headed down the stairs.
She groaned and stared out the window, rubbing her face with her hands. This was seriously not happening right now. It was the right decision. Yes, she felt something, yes she wanted to act on it. But. Was it real or was it just a knee jerk reaction? She had to know. Just did it have to make her head hurt? She slid from bed to lean in her doorway, arms folded under her chest. “I’m not ruining things am I? By making us sit on this for a little bit?” she asked as he came back up the stairs.
Thor paused on the stairs, looking up at her, "No you"re not ruining things. I want you to be sure, and if it turns out the answer is no we shouldn't, we'll keep being friends, right?" He smiled up at her. He felt confident what the answer would be and had already gotten himself prepared for it. Taking another couple of steps up, Thor clapped Val on the back, "I am sorry for being pushy, it was shitty of me and I won't do it again." He headed to the guest room and began putting his things into drawers.
"You weren't." She called after him then stepped into her room to face plant on her bed with a groan. Feels were hard, why did she let herself have them again? Oh. Right. She grabbed the nearest pillow and buried her head under it. That was a mistake because it smelled liked him. She dug around in her head, looking for a reference of how to handle things. She had none, ah, well. She lifted her head, knowing he could hear her. "Don't be daft, for the record, if you overstepped I know how to throw you into the sea out of annoyance. So. You didn't."
Thor laughed and stretched out on the bed, glad that she was giving them both the cover of humor. He reminded himself that he'd been able to keep his hands to himself while he was at his absolute drunkest. He could do it now blowing out a long breath he tried to banish the image of her shirt riding up on her hip and how it had felt to have her legs tangled with his own. "It's fine, Hilde. We're fine."
She slid from bed long enough to grab a smaller pillow, she decided humor could manage things, and then because it was a pretty straight shot through the bathroom into his room, she lobbed the pillow at him. "Damn right we're fine." Then, a quiet smirk as she ducked back to her bed, grabbing her phone. Humor was her saving grace, and she was about to arm them both with those silly nerf weapons. She didn't feel like patching holes from axes in the house. She tossed her phone aside and stared out the window.
Thor caught the pillow and immediately wished he hadn't, it smelled like her and made him think about how good it felt to have her in his arms. He caught himself thinking about the soft curve of her breast against his chest and swore under his breath. She's lonely and she's letting you down slow, asshole, he told himself. He let out another breath and resolved that he was going to be the best friend he could be.
It took her a few minutes of laying there to find a thread and pull it. It wasn’t like her to be so freaked out by anything she wanted. She took what she wanted, she made it hers and she ran with it. Having a few minutes in her own head, in the quiet of the house, listening to the ocean outside was enough to recenter her brain. It wasn’t exactly what she was looking for. But it was enough. She slipped from her bed and disappeared into one of her closets, digging through for her least tempting outfit. It wasn’t perfect, an oversized long sleeve and comfortable sweats, but she wanted to focus on words and she couldn’t do that half dressed. Satisfied she at least had a start on her own head. One step. She padded across the bathroom and leaned in his doorway, arms folded loosely, head resting on the doorframe. She watched him for a moment, thinking, turning things over in her head. “I think I need to clear my head, and I trust you with what I’m thinking. Can I sit?” she asked, carefully, mindfully.
"Of course." Thor put his hand behind his head and smiled at her.
Val crossed over to the edge of the bed and sat with her back against the headboard, knees tucked up, arms loosely wrapped around her legs. She stared at the ceiling for a moment, “You know what I hate most?” she asked, she was going somewhere with this, she swears.
"Tell me,". Thor decided in that moment that this was more that he'd actually hoped for when he'd been stuck in the andromeda Galaxy, he could be happy if things between them never went any farther than this. The two of them sitting together, talking, close enough to feel her warmth and see the dance of expressions across her face.
Her toes curled in the sheets under her, “Feeling utterly off balance and out of my league.” she smoothed a fold down in her sweats, fingers plucking at the fuzz there. She relaxed, her shoulders loosened. “Seeing my father freaked me out. Then being freaked out about a ghost freaked me out, me? Freaked out by a ghost? Ugh. Admitting that is hard.” she said quietly, she still had more to turn over, but she looked over at him.
"I understand that, I do." Thor felt like an utter jackass, She was totally vulnerable and you made it all about you.. "I want to help if I can."
She nudged him with an elbow, before resting her hand on her opposite shoulder so she could rest her ear against it, looking at him. “And I am a little embarrassed about being so freaked out over it.” she laughed ruefully, the more she thought about it the sillier it sounded to her own ears. “I don’t want you… thinking it’s you, because oh, norns it is not you.” she said with her lips twisted into a grin, “Because you have no idea how happy, how good I feel having you here.” she maybe wanted to dive under the blankets with him and curl up against him. “I missed you so much it hurt.”
"Hilde, you don't have to explain anything. I'm glad to be here with you." He gave her a smile, "You're one of the best friends I've ever had, you've always been there for me. I want to be here for you." .
“I’m not explaining for you.” she said as she tightened her hold on her legs a bit. “I’m explaining for me. Because I didn’t know what was bothering me. And now I do.” she rolled her shoulders a bit then closed her eyes. “I feel better just being around you.” she’d take this feeling and run, she felt back on firmer ground, still freaked out about ghost!dad. But better.
"I'm glad you figured it out." He closed his eyes thinking The tesseract is composed of 8 cubes with 3 to an edge, and therefore has 16 vertices, 32 edges, 24 squares, and 8 cubes. It is one of the six regular polychora. "You know I'll do anything I can to help."
“You are … you’re doing a lot. Just… wait for me.” she said simply, he’d friendzoned her and she noticed, even if that’s not how he meant it. She cringed at herself and bounced her face off her own knees, there was no desk to head desk. Cue internal flailing.
"Hilde, I said I will wait for you as long as you like. No pressure. It's okay." Thor smiled at her, "I'm really glad to be here with you." He punched her shoulder lightly, "We're good.okay?"
She rolled her eyes skyward, "You know a little pressure isn't a bad thing right?" She elbowed him, laughing though. "I'm serious. Norns, I need a clue stick."
Thor levered himself up on the bed and rubbed the back of his neck, "Hilde, give me a break. You need time. I agreed to respect that as long as you need and now you want 'a little pressure'." He gave her a lopsided smile to take the sting out his words. "What am I missing?"
"I just don't want you to not address it, and just let it lie. That's all. Time doesn't mean." She mentally flailed, "arghhhh. I'm making a mess of things I'm just gonna...stop talking."
"Address what?" Thor closed his eyes and wished he was the god of patience, "Hilde, are you trying to explode my brain? Waiting involves time and letting things lie. It's okay. I'm not going anywhere..".
Neither of them were god of patience. "Uh, no I'm not trying. I mean I can if you want?" She smiled at him, "Thor. For fuck's sake, I really like you and not in the 'oh lol it's my best friend' way. Norns, I just want you to know that."
Thor was frustrated and irritated, "Hilde, I'm glad you really like me and you want me to know it. Now I know. I told you I would give you time. I will. I'm not going to play how much fucking pressure is too much or not enough with you." He pinched the bridge of his nose, "I'm going to wait for you to figure out what you want and when and whatever else you need." He looked over at her, "In the meantime, can we stop this going in circles? You already have what you want. I'm at your beck and call. What else do you want?."
She went still, "I've made a mess." She unfurled, her first instinct was to bolt. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." She didn't give in and bolt though, head resting back on her knees.
Thor sighed, "You didn't make a mess. I just don't know how to give you what you want. Hilde, you know how I feel, I'm not going to keep whining about it. Tell me what you want or what you don't and I'll do it". He wanted to reach for her and decided that his being grabby was what had gotten them in this place.
She breathed out slowly, "Can we try this over? Hold me?" She figured she had more layers on this time, she was less wound up so she was going to try to just relax. But she needed the comfort of his arms too. She was spiraling out of control and needed to come back.maybe that would help.
"I can do that," Thor made room for Hilde on the bed and when she laid down next to him, he put his arm around her, "I'm sorry this is so hard."
She tucked herself against him, and laid her arm over his. “It’s not your fault it’s hard. I’ve spent too much time alone, I forget it’s okay to open up.” she smiled a bit.
"I want you to talk to me, Hilde and I'm sorry for, well…" he paused, "What was it like when you first came here?" He inhaled the scent of her hair and reminded himself that she was way out of his league and that her friendship was worth too much to risk losing. He put his other arm underneath his head.
Hilde found this much better, and everything felt… more at peace. Like this was what she needed. “Don’t be sorry, you did nothing wrong.” she felt it was more her fault than his that things went sideways. “Well, there was a strange Thor here - looked nothing like you but I only met him once. Otherwise it was relatively uneventful. No one really made a fuss over me.”
"Yes, Torunn told me there had been other Thors here. That is an odd feeling." He liked feeling her relax against him. It felt good to know that he'd made the right decision. He stared out the large window that overlooked the sea and counted the waves as they rolled to shore.
She played with the hem of her sweater, "it really is strange to think about," she.breathed him in and sighed softly. "You missed me getting turned into a kabob for a pterodactyl while playing bait for a trex."
"I would not have enjoyed you being bait for a carnivore," he laughed quietly. He liked the sound of her soft breaths and quiet calm that lay between them. Like the soft click of a door, a small part of him let go of the stuff of drunken dreams and relaxed into acceptance of what was.
"Aragorn and I were fast enough." She said with a warm laugh, relaxed finally. The bundle of worry melted away as she settled. She breathed out softly, "this place is something else." She resisted the urge to shift to look at him.
"For that I am glad," he inhaled the scent of her, let it wash over him, You could lose this, Odinson, do you want that?. Thor was relieved when his body stayed quiet. He smiled at her laugh, it warmed him. "It is, but I'm lucky that it brought me to friends and family."
A sly smirk curled her lips, the tone of her voice matched, "They have a fight Club here. I lost!" She was laughing again, she didn't seem too bothered by this fact. She stretched one leg out lazily, finally fully unwinding. "I am so happy for you. Between me and Loki, you're spoiled." She teased as she breathed out slowly.
"Fight club? I'll have to hear more about that." He shrugged, "I lose all the time," he laughed, "It's fine. You just keep getting His stomach clenched a little, the voice in his head that sounded remarkably like Odin whispered, So spoiled. The brother who hates you because you failed him over and over, a daughter who is mine but not and seems to think a father is akin to something sticky she found on her shoe and because I was a self indulgent drunk who was too much of a coward to say anything I blew the best thing I ever had a chance at. Thor blew out a long breath and told that voice to fuck off. He forced himself to unknot his shoulders, and glanced down at the dark head that lay against him. Resisting the urge to drop a kiss on her head, he asked her, "So who beat you? You ask for a rematch yet?"
"It happens every month. It's a good night." She rolled a shoulder lazily thinking about the fight. "Takashi Shirogane, I told him we need to spar again sometime. It was a close match." She grinned, she had had a lot of fun. Valkyrie had her eyes half closed, she liked the quiet calm. It soothed her soul and she couldn't remember the last time she'd been so relaxed here. She was actively avoiding thinking about her father or ghosts in general.
"You'll get him next time," Thor thought about how many times he'd wanted to be back here, would have given anything for it. He'd said he would do anything to have these people back, now he did. His lips twisted in a wry smile at his own arrogance, he'd always assumed that they'd want him back in the same way he wanted them. He took a deep breath and noticed that his arm had tightened around Hilde. He forced it to relax, "Do you and Loki do much together? I think he likes you, even if he doesn't admit it."
She'd tucked in as his arm had tightened. It was minimal and hadn't noticed. She sifted just a hair, "Not really, no." A soft laugh, "he tends to keep to himself like normal. He doesn't hate me, for which I'm glad." She shrugged, she only had one Odinson she wanted to think about.
"That's good. He's not a good enemy to have,". Thor loved the sound of her laugh, "I hope that we can find a way to fight beside one another instead of against one another." He cleared his throat. "I saw your phone, by the way. The message from Torunn…. also, I might have looked at your pictures. Sorry." Thor's face was red, he felt like he was keeping enough from Hilde. He didn't want to add more.
"I am sure we will have the chance for all of us to be on the same side." She wasn't worried, she knew Loki liked her, he was just Loki. And she only pushed so much with him. She paused for a moment then she laughed, shoulder rolling in a shrug, "I have no secrets from you, that's fine. And I don't mind." And she found that she was being honest, she didn't really mind him seeing the photos she took or her messages. "You had a right to be forewarned."
"I like the pictures you take from Aragorn's back and your music video was," Thor wanted to say that he'd watched it three times, but settled on "excellent." He smiled and then sobered, "You should have told me that Torunn was angry with you for telling me." He felt tension coiling at the base of his skull, "I do not want secrets between us."
Valkyrie blinked, "Oh right. They dragged me out to karaoke. I'm glad you liked it." Her cheeks were red, and she was glad he didn't see it. But then she grew serious and rolled so she could actually look at him. "She can be angry with me all she wants, I refuse to hide anything from you, and that's that." She propped herself up on one elbow, she was deadly serious. "No secrets, Thor. No matter what they are. None."
Thor shifted, "Hilde you know all my secrets already, even the really embarrassing completely awkward ones". He smiled at her, he loved the way that her dark eyes reflected her feelings.
He knew how she felt, and she'd been there for his rock bottom, it left her not seeing the point of lying. "I do. And I don't want to hide anything from you." She said fiercely. She didn't like lying to begin with, or hiding things, but certainly not with him. He meant far too much.
