Cisco was not doing well on energy at this point. He hadn’t been sleeping well and that was before the Crisis. During it he was running on pure adrenaline. Now? He was down to fumes. He badly needed a drink and time to process everything he’d been told about the outcome of Crisis. His head felt like it was about ready to spin at this point. It was so much. And to suddenly be dropped onto this..Vallo? No Crisis happening? Cisco was a bundle of nerves and anxiety, there was no way he could just go back to some apartment complex and sleep. If he went back there he was going to spend hours searching for any kind of monitoring equipment and likely prying up his room at that point, the mood he was in.
He needed to take off the edge. He needed to realize he was standing in the middle of the street with his vibe suit on still, and quickly. A car was speeding right at him while he stood there staring up at the sky, adjusting a frequency on his glasses and probably looking a whole lot like a psycho.
The engineer was getting all kinds of readings, the place itself seemed to be alive. It shifted faster than any Earth he was used to. The shifts caused him some issues, but none he was willing to admit to out loud yet. He could handle himself.
She knew what it was like to arrive in a place like this. The second time around wasn’t so bad, she had more of an understanding of what was happening. But the first time it had felt like her feet had been swept up from underneath here.
It still sucked. That was a fact. Her ship wasn’t here, her crew wasn’t here, Ava wasn’t here. She’d finally come to a place where she was doing okay, and it was all gone again. She spent more time than she should with a drink in her hand, and that was saying something since she usually had one close by. She would have to start doing something about that soon.
But not tonight. Tonight one of her crossover teammates had arrived, and it sounded like he needed a strong drink and someone to talk to. Sara could do that.
“Well hey, Vibe.” she said with a bit of humor as she found him after leaving the apartments. “Welcome to Vallo.” she’d ask him if he was good, but she already knew the answer to that. “One of my defense squad teammates owns the bar we’re going to. You good, or did you want to look into getting different clothes first?”
His scannings were interrupted by a familiar voice, and he was glad for it. It was grounding. Powers or no, being multiversenapped was always a jarring experience. For him, a physically painful one. That comment caused a faint smirk to appear as he stepped out of the street, just in time for the car to speed past and curse at him, but Cisco paid no mind.
“Maybe clothes? I guess this isn’t the blendyist thing” All the leather. “I meant to, but this place it does weird things.” There was a spooky wiggle of his fingers as if she would understand it meant spooky shit Earth-1 didn’t do, but he didn’t really have words for it. He barely had brain power left as it were. When the glasses were removed from his face, exhaustion was pretty evident there. “Any places you know of for I guess a budget?” That was new. STAR Labs had always paid well, he’d never had to worry about money there. He had as a kid though, he could probably do it again if need be. Cisco was overwhelmed. That much was evident.
She knew what that was like, Sara had also arrived in this place in her Canary suite, but most of the time she just didn’t care. It was probably a bit different when you didn’t bother with the mask anymore. Sara and the Canary were simply one and the same.
“There’s a consignment shop a few blocks over. It might be open?” She’d picked up a few items to get herself started when she arrived herself, which was not the same as being spoiled by Gideon’s ability to fabricate whatever she wanted. “That, or I steal clothes from someone in the building. Your choice.”
Cisco grew up poor, but ever since working for STAR he hadn’t had to be thrifty since. Shops were unappealing. “Think the leather pants would be a giveaway if I just...take off the jacket?” He asked curiously, he did have a short sleeve shirt underneath. At least for his outfit he didn’t have to strip like Barry did to fit into it. The glasses were easy enough to remove. He did so as he approached her with an awkward smile. They hadn’t really gotten to hang out much in the past thanks to all her time adventures and all his Flash adventures, but he was looking forward to getting that chance now.
“You much of a hugger, ‘cause it’s kind of a Team Flash thing.” He said with a tired grin as he removed the dark shades. He was physically exhausted and on the verge of mentally, but he hoped the drinks and company would wake him up a bit in both areas of the spectrum. “Stealing is a no.” He reprimanded with a smirk. It was teasing though and good natured.
“It will certainly be a look.” she was assuming he’d be able to pull it off. It was his costume after all. “But leather pants are hardly the most noticeable thing in a city like this.” If he took off most of the other elements, he could make it work. Not that anyone in this city was on the lookout for heroes in costumes most of the time.
Her time with the Legends had definitely made her more open to hugs and what would be normal interactions. For the most part. It really depended on the Legend you were approaching. “I’ll make an exception, just this once,” she said with a smile, opening her arms up for a hug. “It’s good to see you, Cisco.” If he was sure he was good with his outfit as is, she would skip the whole stealing thing.
“We can always find someplace with bad lighting, I’m sure that’s not hard” Dive bars were kind of known for it, and honestly Cisco wasn’t exactly feeling like being a classy person just then. He felt kind of dive bar ish. He wanted to drink off the edge of the Crisis, not flirt and watch people be happy. He wasn’t quite ready for that level of drinking yet.
When she okayed the idea of a hug he did smile though and gave her a good bear hug. He’d needed one, as happy as he was to see her the hug was also stabilizing for him. “I’m so glad you’re here.” She had no idea. He hadn’t expected to be stranded but at least there was a familiar face “My treat in that case. Vallo will make up for it later.” He smirked, tucking the vibe glasses away as he broke it after a moment. “Lead the way.”
“Bad lighting is the best kind of bar.” Things were always so much more interesting. “But Galahd doesn’t have terrible lighting for the most part.” She liked it, it suited her taste and it helped that she knew the owner.
She returned his hug with a smile, making sure to squeeze tightly, but not too tightly, trying to be reassuring. He was taking this whole thing rather well. But by this point they all had to be use to this insanity. “Nope, first drink is on the house, second one is on me. Come on, I’ll introduce you to some more of the other Outlanders when we get there.”
