I've met good people here. People I never would have met otherwise. And honestly, back home was kind of a shitshow. So it's nice to have a break.

That's fair. I try not to be an asshole, but I definitely get it. But I think you might be selling yourself short on not ever using what you learn. You might not use it the way you expect to, but it can definitely help.
