Acknowledge guests when they come in. If it's busy they will be more patient if you acknowledge they're there. Remember names if you can. People like to be names and not guest numbers. If they're regulars, bonus points for knowing their usual drink. Do it for the tips.
Arrange your section of the bar in a way that works for you. Placement of glasses, garnishes, syrups, bar guns, etc. should be in whatever order works best for you.
Have a few "go to" drinks in the back if your head. Some people won't know what they want and will ask you to make them something, or to surprise them. Have something really basic, a cocktail, a beer you recommended, etc.
