In England we call the members of our specific mutation Ekon since it seemed more palatable and less besieged by superstition than the word vampire. Mind you, in the first decade of the twentieth century there were still places in the world that believed wholesale in their folklore of the vampire. Prudence, as such, demanded a sort of...rebranding.
