"I can see why." The place reminded him of more than one unpretentious drinking establishment on several different worlds. A place for beings to come and have a few drinks after the workday, maybe listen to some music and to socialize with each other. Different universes but the impulse remained the same.
He made a point not to interfere with her job, and merely sipped his drink and waited for her to be free again. A glance around the bar confirmed her words: three different people from the defense teams were in the bar other than themselves, though none from their own team.
At her question he chuckled and shook his head. "I can't say I ever had time. As a Padawan I seldom had time to be a hermit and my master wouldn't have let me. Then suddenly I was the master with a Padawan to look after and train, Anakin would have been a handful even for an experienced master and that certainly wasn't me." He could smile and laugh about it now that Anakin was knighted but the younger man had given him most of his worry lines and grey hairs. "And then I was a member of council and the war came along." So, long story short he just had never had time to be a hermit.
Here there was no war to fight, no Jedi Order to help oversee.
