Wait until the syllabus is available to find out how often and frequently you need to use textbooks before buying them. Also, rent them if possible.
Know what perks you get with your student ID. Sometimes that's free printing. Sometimes that's a daily scantron.
Sanitizing wipes. Doesn't do you any good to clean your hands if the desk you're sitting at is also unhygienic.
Have change on hand in case you need something on campus from one of their vending machines (not food, but also supplies).
A small umbrella that you can put in a backpack or poncho.
A planner that you can write in.
A portable charger in case you can't find an outlet in between classes.
Make sure your water bottle is collapsable to save space.
A binder with dividers and pockets. Professors hand out worksheets or rubrics that you don't want to ask for again.
You have a stress ball, but I recommend something that can help control fidgeting without making noises (you'll end up click a pen a lot and that can be irritating in lecture halls)
Pencils, mechanical if you can get them, and if not, also get a pencil sharpener.
Quiet snacks. If your granola bars are in packaging, unwrap them before class.
