Toby couldn’t help but grin at his comment. It sent a warm feeling through her chest, up her shoulders and out to her arms. Why? She didn’t quite know, but she liked spending time with Tybalt, no matter how nuts he drove her sometimes. “I’m glad you’re here too, Tybalt,” she said with a lightness that she tried hard to keep. It could turn into a serious conversation easily and she doubted either of them wanted that. “It’d be so much worse without you.. I don't plan on leaving here without you either.”
At least they had each other. If she were being honest with herself, there weren’t many people that she’d have chosen to be here over him. He…was something and a something she liked.
As they walked, crossing streets, October looked around, exploring the new world with her eyes. It wasn’t like San Francisco, but it didn’t seem that different than most cities. She caught sight of what she thought might be the brewery when they crossed another street and she looked to him in questioning, not realizing she’d stepped closer to him as they’d walked.
