Toby just nodded. A microbrewery sounded fine, though she bet it’d be kind of on the expensive side If they were like the one’s back home. She’d given up on being in Tybalt’s debt a long time ago. It seemed like he continuously came to her aid. She was in so many people’s debts, it was scary. That’s what you get playing hero though, she guessed. Now if he got them out of this Vallo place, she’d be in his debt times a million. “I’ll get next time.” “Let’s go.” She made her way out of her barren, much too big apartment and waited for Tybalt to follow before locking up. She quickly set a ward over the door. That sort of thing was so much easier now that her blood had shifted. She didn’t miss the constant headaches from magic burn. She lifted her fingers and cracked on her human disguise, turning her eyes darker
Moving down the hall, she headed toward the elevators and waited, letting him take the lead once they’d hit the doors. He knew where they were going, after all.
A younger girl, early twenties at most if she wasn’t immortal and given the place, Toby wasn’t sure she could bank on that, walked past them. She fixed her startlingly blue eyes on Tybalt and mouthed a “oh wow” that wasn’t as silent as she clearly meant it to be. Toby rolled he eyes and touched her fingers to her forehead. Well, a lot of people noticed how hot he was.
With eyes that blue, she could be fae. She was wearing dark clothing, fishnet hose, fingerless gloves and had the look from someone who might have sticky fingers. Toby watched her carefully as the elevator doors chimed open.
