"You're both of those things." Ray shot back easily enough as if they had had this argument before. "More than that, too." He still wasn't going to tell John what else was on his mind. He was a little too drunk to make very compelling arguments in favor of all the good he saw in John Constantine. They could leave it there, for now, and pick another night to battle over John's worth.
He hadn't actually meant to make John frown or to make him feel as if he had failed. If he had the ability to pay closer attention he may have panicked over the expression. He may have even tried to explain himself and what he meant. Neither of them were in any shape for a deeper conversation though. Ray couldn't unpack all of his hidden baggage and insecurities just yet. The night had been a good one, they should keep it that way, and the kiss seemed to be enough to take John's mind off it anyway.
"Most important." He agreed with another dopey little smile. He cared about a lot of people. He loved a lot of people. He loved John the most. "Yes. Obviously. I was going to try and talk you into them anyway." He wasn't afraid to try and give the other man puppy dog eyes to win the cuddle war. "You can have drunken whatever you want, Johnny."
