Ray melted into the clumsy kiss, had moving to settle on John's shoulder just to steady himself a little as he returned it. He wasn't faring too much better than the other man and being pulled in like that had thrown off his center of gravity. They were probably both lucky they hadn't just fallen onto the floor. He was sure, however, that it wouldn't matter if they did. It would've been kind of funny. This kiss was nice. Being this close to John and watching him smile or hearing him laugh, even if it was only because he was drunk, was the best way Ray could think of to end an evening.
He smiled at the compliment, glad that John found him attractive. "Don't apologize for kissing me. I like when you do it." He said, hand moving to touch the side of the other's face, thumb brushing through the perpetual stubble. "It's one of my favorite things to do with you." He had a list. He wouldn't bring that up now, probably. "You're so handsome and cool." And interesting. And fun to be around. And thoughtful. And good beneath it all.
He shook his head at the question because, really, he hadn't. Maybe he should've known that. Maybe it was obvious in the way that John was still around, still with him. He'd hoped he was important and that John, maybe, felt a fraction of what Ray felt for the other but he hadn't expected it. He couldn't be sure. "You're important to me, Johnny." A lot of people were though so, maybe, that wasn't saying a lot. "The most important." He clarified before pressing a kiss to John's lips to stop himself from saying too much.
