Maybe this is why our friendship works as well as it does. Look, I'm not good at apologizing for myself, no matter how much I sometimes regret the choices I made. I was on the wrong side of a war, too, until I chose to be on the right one. We all have our price and knowing that we both have the potential to be bought doesn't make us inherently bad people. It's what we do after we let ourselves acknowledge our shortcomings that counts the most, I think. And I think you deserve someone who can see your past and your present and love the whole of you.
