Indeed! The book was pulled out from under a fallen piece of masonry and escaped the flames.
It's quite amusing, really. In one copy, affectionately called the 'Wicked Bible', there's an omission from the book of Exodus which changes the seventh Commandment into 'Thou shalt commit adultery'. King Charles the First ordered every copy to be destroyed, but eleven made it through. There is a second, less known misprint in the same version, but I blush at the thought of repeating it. Instead, I'll tell you about the so-called 'Murderer's Bible', a King James version from 1795 that contains a typo in Mark 7:27 that says: 'Let the children be killed', instead of 'filled'.
