Not quite the same as your visions, no. It's as though you've lived weeks, or months, or, I believe, in some cases, years, but then you wake up and it's only the next morning.
It's dreadful, really. It's generally accompanied by a splitting headache, which I suppose it makes sense, as it's forcing your brain to acquire more knowledge than it should naturally be able to do in such a short period of time. I've known of some people who've aged over night, as though to match whatever it is they remembered. I would not recommend it.
