NYE CHARITY AUCTION & PARTY FOR THE VALLO YOUTH CENTER
WHAT'S UP?
It's time for the first New Years Eve charity auction and all around good time party that is being put on by and raising funds for the Vallo Youth Center. Put on your fanciest duds and a masquerade mask to match this year's theme and come on down to make some silent bids on various prizes donated from businesses and individuals around Vallo, eat some downright delicious food prepared by local businesses, and dance the night away into 2024: all for a good cause!
All of the money raised in ticket sales to attend and bids go toward continuing to fund the Vallo Youth Center. There will be tables set up that show some of the goals that the Youth Center has for 2024 and just where the money will be going.
You can see details below! If you have any questions, please let us know, otherwise feel free to comment if your characters came, who they came with, how many dances they got in, if there were midnight kisses, and so on!
🍾 🎆 🎉 ❤️ 🖤
TL;DR DETAILS
Doors of Castle Whitespire open at 7PM with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served all night and auction open until 12:30AM. Dinner is served at 8PM, dancing to follow!
While there is no dress code, fancy dress is encouraged and masquerade masks are required. If needed, there are enchanted masks at the front door. An attendant will explain you only need to imagine what you want your mask to look like and it will listen!
MENU
There are tables set up with charcuterie and snack stations of all shapes and sizes--meat and cheese, finger sandwiches, desserts, fruit, and so on. These will be available and restocked all night, so there will always be food available.
Once you find yourself at one of the seats at the many tables that are set up, you will find a card with the menu (see below!) listed out for you and a pen (with crimson ink, of course, to continue with the theme). You will just need to make checks next to the food you're interested in getting and which toppings you would like on your own personal pizza--feel free to pick as much or as many as you want. It's a party! Enjoy yourself.
As soon as you've filled out the card, it will disappear. Dinner will start to be served at 8PM, with servers bringing out the food that you chose to your seat.

BEVERAGES
With a mixture of an open bar that you can order at and servers walking around with a jumble of signature drinks (both alcoholic and non) and champagne that can be nabbed when they pass by, there is plenty to drink. The bar is stocked with the aforementioned signature cocktails as shown in the pictures above, but they also have a choice of beer and wine. All of the drinks can also be made without alcohol, but they also will serve soda, water, etc.
There is also a surprise shot available! The shot itself is clear in color, except for a very faint silver shimmer to the liquid, and tastes mildly fruity. What is the surprise, then? Well, there are a whole host of temporary magical effects that can happen when you drink one of these shots. All of the effects are available to be viewed on a menu of sorts so people know what they're getting into, but they are random, so drinker beware!
You can see the list of effects below; feel free to roll these yourself in the dice rolling channel or pick something specific.
SHOT EFFECTS 1 - polymorph into a black cat for 1 minute 2 - your hair turns silver and crimson or onyx for 24 hours 3 - you burp after drinking and sparks come out of your mouth that turn into red, black, and silver confetti 4 - you gain the power to fly 1 inch above the ground for one hour (regular walking speed) 5 - for the next ten minutes, you can only shout when you speak 6 - for the next ten minutes, everything you speak comes out sung (loudly) 7 - your eyes turn completely black for 24 hours 8 - smoke starts to slowly come out of your ears and continues to do so for the next hour 9 - you grow a 3-foot long silver and black feathered beard that falls out on its own after an hour 10 - your voice goes high pitched (like having breathed helium) for the next hour
SILENT CHARITY AUCTION
And now for the big draw! Citizens and businesses alike around Vallo have donated experiences, items, and gift cards to be bid upon. All money that is raised through the auction will go toward facilities and new programs to benefit the kids at the Youth Center. Monetary donations without bidding are also appreciated, but not at all required. The auction will go until 12:30AM, then all bids will be cut off.
You can see the full list of items here! If you would like to bid on a specific item, please comment below in the indicated section. Please limit bids to three per character. If multiple people show interest in the same item, that's okay! We'll roll for it! You have until end of day on 1/2 to comment; I'll go through and comment if you won your item on 1/3 to confirm. ICly, we'll say that's also the day that winners are notified and given info on how to redeem their stuff.
WHAT NOW?
Once dinner is over, space will be made for mingling and dancing. During cocktails and dinner, a string quartet will be playing instrumental covers of modern songs, but they will be replaced by live music once dinner is shaped up. It's DJ Bullpit, here and ready to get everyone on the dance floor! Local photographer and Outlander, Henry Townshend, will be about, taking photographs to commemorate the event!
When midnight rolls around, servers with trays of champagne and sparkling grape juice will milling about for those who are interested in partaking. Then there is a countdown with magical confetti--any stuck to clothes or hair will disappear when you leave the keep--and lots of cheering!
You don't have to leave right away, but you do have to leave before 1AM. If you need help getting home, there are people available to get you an Uber.
