I know. It was a source of contention for a while. Kind of still is, if I'm being honest. But once you address that, then marriage is usually the tax brackets and the childcare and the other practicalities of having someone you trust assigned to split life decisions.
You seem not to give a shit about the love and emotional commitment parts, so I'll leave that up to other people to answer.
