Smiley day to you, I'm Fresh Cut Grass! (smileyday) wrote in valloic,
Sure! So firstly, recognizing your signs of stress is important! Once you identify what happens to your body and thoughts, you can get a jump start on managing your stress! Sometimes it whacks you over the head and is unexpected, but sometimes, your body gives you cues!
In the moment, you can practice some breathing exercises! Inhale for three, exhale for three, inhale for four, exhale for four, until you physically feel your body start to relax. Focus on the sound of your breath. Unclench your teeth. Think about the messages you're telling yourself, and see if you can alter them. Maybe positivity isn't realistic at the moment, but acknowledging that you're struggling can be just as important! If possible, take yourself out of the stressful situation, even for a moment. Giving yourself a change of scenery can be enough to hit the reset button and get you ready to face everything again! Lean on your friends and loved ones too, or the people who are supposed to help you, like co-workers!
And we can always talk, if you'd like! Sometimes, having an unbiased ear can help express things you might not always be able to with others!
