I am not surprised that he left, I am surprised he left without causing a scene. But now I am missing our random conversations.

So, random question to start more conversations: Are you a cat or a dog person?

I'm going to have to go with dog person on this one.

Do you have any now?

Depends how you define dog. And also having one.

Standard definition I suppose? Four legs, furry, members of the canid family. I would say having one would be that you have taken responsibility for said dog.

Is there another definition?

I was being a bit of a smart ass. My best friend back home is a werewolf.

I was never allowed to have a dog as a kid. In hindsight this was the right decision.

I can honestly say I have never met a werewolf. I thought they were a myth.

I was raised with them. I can't imagine not having them as a child.

Not in my world. I can’t stop meeting them.

I never had a pet. Hence the joke.

Both, but I’ve always wanted a dog.

What sort would you get if you could?

That I'm not as sure about, though likely nothing too small. Someone with a good, friendly personality. Maybe a retriever of some kind.

What about you? Are you a dog or cat person?

Those can be very good dogs if you train them properly.

I had mastiffs when I was much younger. I haven't had that kind of pet for a very long time.

That's what it seems like. Although given what this place seems to throw at its inhabitants, it might be a lot of extra training with regards to how to react to everything.

Do you want a pet? Do you miss having one?

Well they were bred to be gun dogs, I think that gives them the right disposition for that kind of training.

I do miss my dogs but I don't think I would ever have another one, for a lot of reasons. Not the least of which being they have such short lifespans.

True. It's always a possibility one day.

They say it's about the quality of life not the quantity of years, but I can understand that. Loss is never easy.

Valid point. But there are other obstacles to pet ownership for me, the least of which is, I can never go out in the daytime. I wouldn't be able to properly socialise them.

I guess that would depend on the horse.

They’re all good animals.

It is when basically everyone Yeah

It's a lot of responsibility, and I'm a lot of responsibility. Maybe one day but I can settle for playing with ones up for adoption for now.

Animals usually avoid me, but there's a dog here that kind of follows me around, does that count?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]wolfkiller
2023-02-26 08:34 am UTC (link)
Is there a reason they do that? It only counts if you actually like the dog I think.

Me too. With the avoiding thing. Not the dog thing. But there are some of those too but that's because I bribed my cousin's dogs.
