Harry knew she was teasing him and probably to deflect from that brief, but oh-so-sweet, moment they'd shared between them. He could take it and he did in good humour, because with Murphy nothing was off-limits. They both had their issues with intimacy and they both struggled to trust. Maybe it was their nature or perhaps it was the accumulation of so much loss that made them wary.
"Nuh uh," he replied with a grin, "it was all Bob. He just couldn't be trusted around decent folk, so I had to build him a lair," Harry teased back. "You should be careful I don't decide to keep you down here too," he warned as he followed Murphy back up and covered up the entrance once more.
"Sorry, bud, you're having kibble tonight," he told Mouse as he fetched the box of food and gave him a generous portion to keep him happy while they went out. "As for us?" Harry said with a frown, "I think it should be your choice. It's our first date, so it can be as fancy or as dirty as you're in the mood for. And I'm talking about the food, before you get any idea," he told her with a grin. "We can do sushi, if that's what you're in the mood for, or we can go and find the best hot dog in the damn city. Lady's choice," and whatever they ended up eating he'd get an extra portion and bring it home for Mouse.
"Come, m'lady," he said as he grabbed his coat and headed towards the door, "let's feed you before you turn menacing."
