The sky is still beautiful. No sun appearing is difficult for some of us, and I'm glad we were told ahead of time so that it wasn't a surprise. But even without the daylight, the moon is so vivid and the little points of starlight glittering through clouds is extraordinary to see, and often taken for granted, even by me.

In our world, for a long time there was no sun, and the light went out, or went into hibernation for so long it made little difference to many people. I'm not sure what the sky looked like during that time, since I couldn't see anything regardless of light. But I hope that there was still some of this for people to look at, even if it didn't have that bright moon to guide them by.

This place has its flaws, bunnies, geese, and abrupt departures among them. But today and tonight, since they blend into one, I'm feeling grateful to be here with the people I love, and those I've met here and come to care for.

For those who find the darkness more difficult, I understand, and I hope you can take some comfort in the idea that the sun does always return, in time.

"Brigitte, what did you learn from the Atlanteans?" I'm glad you asked! The answer is a LOT. The first part is a bunch of chemistry that I won't bore you to sleep with, but I'll keep it short by saying they use controlled electrolysis to superheat metals like magnesium, which in turn function as the heat of an above-water forge! But that's not where it ends! They can either forge something entirely with this superheated metal (in excess of 5000 °F if they want!) or coat something else with it. That latter part is what I spent a lot of time learning. Imagine crafting armor or weapons out of wood, or porcelain, or even just bone or coral, then coating it with a lightweight but extremely durable metal outer shell. The applications are staggering! I'm hoping to set up a regular exchange with them :D

Oh and also my workshop from home showed up a few weeks ago, literally right behind the smithy. So you haven't been imagining that the place is nearly four times as large now. This means I have plenty of room to try and replicate what I've learned or build new feats of engineering! I'm pretty excited, someone may need to check on me from time to time to make sure I've remembered to eat!

So whether you struggle to keep a plant alive (which is totally okay!!) or just want a little friend to brighten your day, stop by the market!! We can make deliveries too! But that just takes a little bit more time because we have to schedule it. I like doing them though, because then I get to see people who might not be able to make it out! :)))))))))

Is it common for people to return here so soon after departing? Home was within my grasp for mere hours, and yet I blinked, and it was lost to me again.
