I somehow wound up at Sofia's my very first day here. It was wonderful. The pasta is fantastic, but the breadsticks are honestly to die for.
For what it's worth, I think there's something very noble about feeding people, seeing the looks on their faces when a dish is placed in front of them, watching them walk away with full bellies. Menial or not, it's a worthy occupation.
You could do a lot worse.
