Re: Filter
Okay, so Hindus believe in the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth called Samsara that our souls/spirits (called Atman - which we also believe to be a piece of Brahman, the Supreme Being) go through. Every living being has this Atman and goes through this cycle. Their rebirth depends on their karma - you accrue good karma or bad karma depending on your behavior in your current life. You live a generally good life, follow through on Dharma (duties)? You'll be reincarnated into a better person/situation. If you're a shit being, then you come back as a dung beetle or something equally horrid until you learn to shape up.
Eventually, after many cycles of Samsara, if you maintain good karma throughout, you'll reach Moksha. This is the release of your Atman from Samsara. When Moksha happens, your Atman will rejoin Brahman and you'll simply just...be done. Peace.
