The questions surprised Caleb, who had been expecting some kind of scoff or pushback. He knew they still had a ways to go in this time, to consider themselves friends again. Things always had a way of changing whenever there was time travel involved, though. Little splinters that sometimes shot off, or tendrils that grew into something bigger.
