Eadwulf couldn't help but bristle slightly at the reminder that yesterday's exchange had gone down in full view of anyone with access to a communication device. And possibly a few people without. Gossip traveled fast. To the extent that he'd been aiming to keep a low profile, his part in that mess had been a deplorable oversight.
But it appeared that dismal performance was not about to cost him a potentially lucrative opportunity. "I practice arcane magic. Conjuration, abjuration... That sort of thing." He wasn't about to bring up his aptitudes for illusion or enchantment; those arrows in his quiver were not meant to be seen until they were used - and even then, if he was successful, no one would ever know he possessed such abilities. "Where I come from, my people are - were - at war. I trained as a soldier and used whatever skills I had to serve my country."
He feigned a shrug. "Teamwork isn't my strong suit, either." Did it suddenly seem as though he was speaking more openly? That was no accident. "You've mentioned others who work here. May I ask who?"
