At some point the group had migrated from Galahd to Lux to join in the birthday celebrations with Fen and Margo. The cozy and homey atmosphere of the former, giving way to something darker and more indulgent. She generally wasn’t the type for excess, but she figured she deserved this.
Feeling pleasantly buzzed from the alcohol and the company, Emme pulled her dark hair over her shoulder and scanned the faces for one in particular. As much as she had enjoyed all the socializing she’d done, there was one person in particular that she was keen to end the evening with.
Spotting him, she moved through the crowd to reach where he was sitting. Rather than pull up a chair, she slid herself onto his lap instead. “Hello again.”
When it turned into two bars though, oof. That might’ve been a bit much and Fandral found himself sitting more than anything else during their time at Lux. Well, because he’d been near fatally wounded again and take pity on him! The man needed to rest.
Though he’d been in the middle of lifting his glass to his lips to finish off the drink that remained when the beautiful woman in question promptly seated herself on his lap. He chuckled quietly and without so much as word, his free hand moved to rest against her hip. To keep her balanced, of course. “Hello yourself,” he said with a grin, setting the glass down so that he could turn his attention to her. “Enjoying your evening?”
“How could I not be with company like this?”
His hand shifted a little, sliding along the curve of her hip until his fingertips brushed at the side of her thigh, allowing the pad of his middle finger to draw slow circles against the fabric there as he spoke. “I am glad you are having a good time, dear Emmeline.”
She managed to maintain her composure however, and gave him a genuine smile in return. “What about you? I know you didn’t sign up for dancing and being dragged along to a second club.” As much as she wanted to take him home and remove every bit of his clothing immediately, she was still aware enough to remember that he’d been seriously injured not too many days earlier. She wanted that reassurance that he was still okay before their flirtations went any further.
“I am enjoying myself immensely.” And that was true enough; how could he not be when she was sitting on his lap like that? Fandral chuckled a bit and lifted his now empty glass in gesture. “The drinks are good, the women are beautiful…” He lifted and dropped his shoulders in a casual shrug, but smiled all the same. “Though I must admit, I was ill prepared for a second location, so I am… resting, I suppose. I cannot expend all of my energy on dancing and merriment, now can I?”
Sure, he’d been gravely wounded about half way through his time in ancient Vallo, but as an Asgardian, he healed much, much faster than most. So while some of his wounds were still a little sore, for the most part he was better. He was also just restless and needed something to do other than sit around.
“I must save something for later.”
“I do apologize for dragging you along to a second place without warning. I already have a few ideas of how to make it up to you. I may have been thinking about it all night.”
“Mmm.” She leaned in closer, almost conspiratorially. “It starts with bringing you home with me.” Her lips were near his ear and she pressed them softly against the side of his neck. Then lifted her chin and moved to catch his earlobe between her teeth. She ran her tongue along the skin and sucked briefly before releasing it and pulling back. Unable to help herself, she ran her fingers through his hair again. “After that, I’d say we can definitely lose at least some of this clothing. To make sure you’re healing properly, of course.”
The attention to his neck and earlobe was rather delightful and his hand slipped further in and up her thigh, fingers dangerously close to that warmth between her legs, even if there was fabric in the way. “How very kind of you, wanting to make sure my wounds are healing,” he murmured, grinning. “I do have some very impressive scars now.”
Having run her fingers through his hair, she had casually looped both her arms around his neck and her nails gently scratched his hairline. “You know what they say about women and scars.” Without waiting for a response, she leaned in and kissed him properly.
It was passionate and hinted at all the other things she’d be doing once they were alone. She pressed herself closer to him, feeling the nerves in her skin tingling in anticipation. She only pulled back once she heard her phone chime.
She darted a quick glance at the screen before grinning back at him. “My ride’s here.”
“Is it?” he asked, a little breathless when she pulled back, glancing at her phone as well before chuckling. “Aye. Then I suppose we should be going, hm?”
“I couldn’t agree more.” Anxious as she was to get out of there with him, she was also a little disappointed that she’d have to move from her current position to accomplish it. She leaned in to kiss him again to give her an excuse to stay there just a few moments longer. He was delicious.
Eventually she managed to extricate herself from his lap and get back to her feet. Taking a hold of his hand, she tugged him gently out of his seat, while trying to be mindful of any injuries. She gave him a very approving glance before lacing her fingers through his.”Follow me.”
