My issue with this particular battle is that foolish decisions were made for no apparent reason. I've seen many foolish decisions made in battle - because of inexperience, because of faulty information, because of excessive pride, because of fear, because of madness, and so on - but this particular battle had a few moments where I felt that the trouble was not with the character, but with the fact that the person who directed the filming of this battle had simply never actually seen siege tactics at work.
