Just looking? Those words were the bane of a retail employee's existence, especially two minutes--one minute until close! Iris watched with an appalled expression as the customer legitimately disappeared between the shelving, her eye taking on a rather strong twitch.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" she muttered under her breath. The clock struck closing time and the sound of the front door's locks echoed through the still very quiet shop. What was...he even looking for? Had some New Year revelry caused him to be in need of some wood bonding lotion? That was aisle two. Or had his hazel wand absorbed a bit of his temperament and needed to be sedated with a few hours under a soothing spell?
Sighing, Iris decided to hurry up this customer's visit with a few helpful tips. Employee of the month, right here. She ought to put up a picture.
Her heels clicked loudly on the wood and a passing glance into a mirror on the wall showed her how strange her full-and-sparkly-makeup looked with the plain work robes. At least she knew that it would all make sense with the full outfit.
"We've got a sale on cases," Iris said, coming from behind, her hands motioning in an exaggerated way toward the slim boxes. Perhaps she could annoy him out of the store, that would be a fun story to relate. "What's your wand wood? I can match anything you've got."
