Jean watched the banana too, and in spite of the terror and wonder gripping her heart, she could only smile. It didn’t seem remotely real.
“The newer dreams, yes. The Phoenix dreams are just… terrible. But the newer ones I could do this. Move things just by thinking it. I was at a school, and there were other people with these same abilities.” She gave him a smile that was almost shy. “No floating space eyeballs yet though. I’ll keep you posted.”
She let the banana drift back over to the table. “There were also a particularly stupid looking couple of costumes, but we can skip that part.” Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were bright with excitement. “Do you think everyone’s dreams are maybe some sort of… I don’t know, awakening? It doesn’t seem possible, but even I can’t rationalize this.”
