Bran should have been delighted to have his parents away. He should have been wheeling up and down the halls, chasing after Sansa and Arya. He should have been arm wrestling with his brothers. Bran wasn't feeling very much like it, though. Whenever he closed his eyes, all he saw was the retreating sky, and all he heard was the three eyed crow. It had been days since the dream, and it still wouldn't leave. There was none of that vague remembrance, no foggy loss of details. It was like a real memory, there to stay, the same unwelcome guest it had been the night he'd awoken in sweat.
At times, Bran could be moody, so it wasn't all that uncommon to see him brooding around the house, wistfully dribbling a basketball or staring out at the back lawn. Only this time, he as staring at the birds in the back lawn, waiting for one of them to talk to him. Stupid, he'd tell himself, why are you being so stupid? Later, he wanted to spend some time with Jon before his brother had to go back, but for now, he wanted to get away from the house. Anywhere. School had served as a distraction, but now that he was home, he wanted to get out. He wished for practice, but it wasn't until tomorrow.
What possessed him to dial the number his dad had left them with was beyond even him. He just couldn't think of anything else to do. Best Buy was also a stupid place to go. Why had he said Best Buy? Bran rubbed at his temple as he waited for Mr. Baratheon. Nearby, a bird was singing. "Shut up," Bran mumbled.
