Who: Wilson and Henry.
What: DOCTORBROS.
When: Thursday afternoon.
Where: UCI Hospital.
Rating: TBA.
Status: In Progress!

Wilson loved clinic work. The other doctors tended to think he was mad for it, but he did truly enjoy it. It was a nice change from seeing people who had cancer, from saying a word that terrified most people. Sometimes it was just nice to tell someone they had a cold.

He was filling out the release forms for a girl who had a nasty earache, making sure to give her the drops that would help with the pain.

Henry wanders in from his own stretch at the clinic, looking bedraggled and exhausted. Not that this is anything new, really. Henry feels, and suspects he rather looks perpetually tired. Which is unfortunate, but there's nothing can be done about it, except get more sleep maybe.

He smiles when he sees Wilson, though, and goes to pour himself a cup of coffee and settle on the little sofa that occupies their lounge. "Hello there, James. Busy as usual, I see."

Wilson grins right back at Henry. He's the only other doctor that goes by first names with him - always offering him a polite "James" instead of the hurried "Wilson" that most people give him.

"Oh, always. I kind of like my clinic days, though. At least I haven't told anyone today they only have six months to live." Wilson's not as close with Henry as he is with some of the other doctors at UCI, but he doesn't mind chatting with anyone.

"That is, indeed, a relief, I'm certain. I shouldn't like to be in your place. You do wonderful work I know, but I couldn't talk to people like that as often as you do."

He doesn't envy Wilson his job, really. He'll take his clinic hours and significantly less pay over delivering bad news any day.

"Well, that's the catch. Great risk, great reward and all that. But I have to admit, sometimes it's nice to just prescribe tea instead of chemo." Wilson jotted down his notes and smiled at his coworker.

"You do have those few that demand something more quote-unquote 'helpful' than tea, but honestly tea and rest is the best thing for most ailments. And a lot of kleenex."

"For what we see, yes. I just told this little girl to put on a Snuggi and watch lots of cartoons as well." Wilson grins, shaking his head.

"That sounds like a wonderful day, actually. Though I'd likely watch some sort of nature program, instead of cartoons.

What would you prescribe for chronic headaches, then."

"I'd prefer something with Bogie in it, but we all have our viewing preferences." Wilson smiles as he makes copies of the form he's just filled out.

But Henry's question inspires a wicked sort of laugh. "For me, nothing helps headaches quite like a divorce."

And Henry can't help but laugh in return, shaking his head a little, "Well I haven't got anyone to divorce, so I suppose that's out."

"Then I'd recommend some ibuprofen and a cool compress. Why, do you have a headache?" Wilson cocks his head to the side, worrying about his co-worker.

"I think it's because I haven't been sleeping well. Or too much caffeine. Or too little caffeine, who knows. These things are a delicate balance."

"Try having a soda and see if that helps? Or you could take some Excedrin." Wilson rifles through the drawers in the break room to find some.
