Who: Thor, Tessa
What: It's still called bromance even if one of the siblings is female, right?
When: Backdated to last week's wardrobe shenanigans
Where: Tessa's
Warnings: Mjolnir is not the hammer...
Tessa and Thor can just happen when they decide to have a nice sit down. Possibly at her place to avoid flashing the world?
Life had gotten exciting again, and as usual when life got exciting, Tessa called Thor. She was much more calm than those first few conversations after the Dreams--and Zach--had entered the picture, but she liked spending time with her surrogate brother. It seemed like they always had so much to catch up on.
Thor smiled as he arrived at her place by mundane car for once, and knocked, smiling softly as he waited. He did love to visit with his sister of choice. She was an amazing woman, and someone he cared about deeply. He hoped he would not ever have to walk this road without her.
The current madness was silly to Thor, and he thought it funny.
"Hey," Tessa grinned up at Thor as she let him in, offering a cold bottle of home-brewed root beer that she'd gotten from one of her blood brothers over Easter weekend. "Thirsty? How adventurous are you feeling today?"
Thor smiled, and without pause took the bottle. “I always like a good adventure.” He eyed it and opened it. He inhaled the scent before taking a long drag.
“My brothers like to trade homebrews, every holiday,” she said, “I’ve got some stronger stuff, if you’re up for it, sometime. Beer, wine. Come July, there will probably be a batch of hard lemonade.”
Thor smacked his lips. “This is good! Root beer, yes?” He’d never actually had any before. Now he’d be ruined for normal store bought.
“I might have to offer a swap of Ambrosia. I’m working with Kitty Pryde to get it made.” He needed to check on that soon, come to think of it.
“Sure is,” Tessa said. She was kind of a root beer snob, herself, thanks to her brothers. She wouldn’t drink anything out of a can if she could help it. She grinned at the mention of Thor’s experiment. Thor might be the blond sheep, but he was definitely one of the family.
“Is it difficult stuff to make, this side of the Stargate?”
Thor sipped some more and grinned. “I might have to see if I can pay your brothers to make me more of this, more often.” He nodded.
Then he nodded again. “Yes. Ambrosia is a thing of the science and art of Asgard, not normal alcohol making.”
“Technically, you can’t buy any actual beer or wine from them, since they don’t have a liquor license,” she said, “But the root beer, you probably could. Also, if you save your empty beer and soda bottles, they do sanitize and reuse them.”
She grinned, and waggled her brows. “The art and science of Asgard, huh?” she teased, “You better watch out, or I might think you’re getting too big for your britches.”
“I’ll remember that.” He chuckled and stuck out his tongue at her. “I mean no grandeur by it, Tessa. It’s simply a different realm, and the ways of it. I would rather not be a braggart about it but...” And that was when his britches went away. He sighed. “Might you have a towel?”
Tessa opened her mouth to say something, but immediately forgot what. Forget giving mouth-to-mouth to a soaking wet, unconscious Thor. Seeing him awake and pantsless was another matter entirely. She was just glad that her training helped her keep a professional eye.
She turned, gesturing for him to follow, and walked quickly to the bathroom, where she retrieved one of her large bath-blanket sized towels. “This ought to cover it.”
Thor followed her and smiled. “Thank you.” He took the towel and wrapped it about his waist, where it promptly became a short skirt, and he facepalmed.
“Well... tis better than nothing.” Barely.
“I would offer you a robe, but I don’t think mine--or even Zach’s--would fit you very well,” she said, grimacing as her blouse suddenly popped a button or two. She rolled her eyes. “Yes, I know Thor looks like he belongs on the cover of some highland bodice-ripper romance, but really?” she said, grumbling into the ether to whatever gods of mischief were...apparently not listening. “Really?”
She turned her attention back to Thor, keeping her eyes politely above the waist. Yes, he was attractive--and particularly well endowed--but she was plenty satisfied in that department. “Can I get you a blanket, perhaps?”
Thor laughed. “I think the gods are laughing at us tonight, my friend.” He shook his head. “I am sorry.” He nodded, and spoke. “Surely. And perhaps some more to drink, an you are willing.” He smiled to her.
Tessa just shook her head. She just hoped this wasn’t Loki’s doing. Or his angelic counterpart, Gabriel, who had tormented the brothers Winchester while posing as Loki in at least one of Tessa’s dreams. She didn’t think it was--the OC was tricksy enough without any help.
She grabbed a couple of actual beers from the fridge, and motioned Thor to the living room, where she kept a couple of blankets thrown over the back of the couch for cooler weather. “It’s not your fault,” she said, when they were settled. “I figure between your line of work, and mine, it was bound to happen anyway. At least now it’s out of the way, right?”
Thor nodded and settled one blanket over his lap as he sat on another. “Thanks. And very true. Life is sure to provide us with moment in the future when we will end up dishabille around one another.” He chuckled. “It is merely how life is.”
She smiled, shaking her head at the memory of how often she had seen Thor, if not in undress, then in various states of disarray. It was getting to be old hat by now. “I guess we’ll just have to be ready for anything,” she said, “Though I will say, I’ve had worse surprises.”
Thor laughed. “Good to know.” He smiled and shook his head. “Thank you for being an amazing friend, Tessa. When I do get married, I would like you to be there, and since I think it unlikely my father will be there, will you do me the honor of walking with me to the front, and then sitting in a place of honor for me?”
Tessa blinked. “Of course I’ll be there,” she assured him, “And I’m flattered that you would think of me.” Maybe it was a little unconventional, but Thor seemed like one to make his own traditions.
“I would be happy to stand with you, brother,” she said. She offered a mischievous smile as she added, “When do I get to meet your lovely bride, anyway?”
Thor smiled at her. “Thank you, sister.” He smiled wider, blushing slightly. “Soon. I’m sure we can have you over for dinner some evening.” He would like nothing better than to introduce his fiance to his sister of choice.
“And you should really meet Zach,” she said, “Since we are using the L word now.” She smiled. “He has a drawer and everything.”
“I would like to.” He smiled wide at her and hugged her, blankets and all. “Congratulations, sister!” He felt a great deal of happiness that she had found herself one who was her match.
Tessa hugged him back, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of being engulfed in his generous embrace. She sighed contentedly, and nodded her head against his shoulder. “He still hates dreaming, and things can get a little awkward at times, but I think we’re starting to find our balance.”
“Good. and true, and good again. He sounds a good and smart man, and if he makes you happy, I am glad to know him.” Thor smiled. “Someday, I will introduce you to your other sister, one who I adopted, something like you, but different.”
Tessa nodded again. Zach was intelligent, and clever, and honest, and she really had grown to love him. She thought she might love Thor, too, but it had taken a different shape, and that was good. She was looking forward to meeting the woman who had captured and held Thor’s wandering eye. And anyone else he’d claimed as family, she knew they must be something special, too.
“Something like me? Are there other reapers out there that I don’t know about?”
“Not a reaper. Her dreams are darker yet, more destructive, and her other self is no gentle ally. But she and I have worked together and connected. She is one such as you in spirit.” Thor nodded. And his shirt vanished, leaving behind a lai. He snerked.
“Well, at least i am completely naked now.”
She laughed with him, shaking her head and fluffing the wreath of flowers around his neck. He looked like some beauty pageant winner, or something. “I promise I won’t try to peek.”
Thor snerked. “I am hardly worried you will, since you’ve already seen it all. And hopefully will see my movie, which will show it to you again.” He chuckled. “I trust you, my friend.”
Tessa shook her head, trying not to think about Thor, naked, and larger than life, in the cinema. Of course, she wouldn’t let that stop her from seeing the movie, and showing her support. “So how much longer will you be in filming for this one?”
“Just a few more weeks now. We should wrap Mid-May. Then they add the special effects and the movie will be out January 2014.” Thor grinned. “And in the meantime, I start filming another movie. “ He chuckled.
“Good for you!” She gave his arm a playful nudge with her shoulder. She’d never doubted that he would have plenty of work. “Hopefully production hasn’t been set back too far by all the wardrobe issues?”
Thor nudged her back. “Some days have been complete losses, but we have done a lot of sound work, and special effects work, which doesn’t need the people to always be in shot. Or focus anyway.”
"At least the crew is able to be flexible that way," she said, "I've been getting a lot of practice with my powers of perception. And, uh, altered reality. To keep my uniform off, while I'm on the clock. And Zach has been getting a good show when I'm not."
Thor laughed. “Good for him. And you. These events can be a bit fun, for those of us with paramours.” He nodded. he and Natasha had indeed had some interesting fun with the wardrobe events.
Tessa grinned. Zach was getting a lot better at rolling with the punches, she thought. And she was getting better at reading him, and helping him stay relaxed. “It’s nice having someone you can count on, in fun times, and in frustrating ones. I’m glad you didn’t let me talk myself out of giving it a chance.”
Thor hugged her impulsively. “I am too. You deserve love, and a chance at real happiness, whatever shape that takes for you.” he was a changed man, in a real way, because of the coma, seeing almost all his friends taking the illness and because of Natasha. All of it had combined to change his mind on many things.
She gave another contented sigh as she hugged him back. The change might have seemed sudden, but she’d seen him before and after, and he’d done a lot of growing--and not just physically. “I guess sometimes love creeps up on you when you least expect it.”
“Yes, and perhaps, adulthood as well.” He chuckled and ruffled her hair, then felt things shift and looked down, only to chortle. He was now wearing something very like a naughty schoolgirl outfit, but one obviously meant for a woman slightly smaller than him.
“This day seems unwilling to stop the madness.”
“Definitely.”
She leaned back a little when she felt fabric under her hands, glancing down at Thor’s new costume--or as much of it as was not covered by the blanket on his lap. Just seeing the top was enough to let her know what it was meant to be. “Now look who’s about to burst his buttons,” she teased, reaching up to flick the ends of his hair. “All you’re missing is a pair of pigtails.”
“Don’t tempt the world. Seems like it responds sometimes.” He stuck out his tongue at her, then poked her. “It might even get you somehow.”
“Oh, does it?” she asked, poking him back. “I suppose that would explain why I have a pair of boxers on over a pair of tights.” She wouldn’t be surprised if she had some superhero emblem splashed across her chest, inside of her own half-buttoned blouse. “Maybe we should trade?”
"We could try that." He chuckled and rose, only to find his outfit changing again, to a skintight and more than, leather catsuit.
He just laughed.
Tessa stood, unable to help herself as she looked Thor up and down. She wasn’t sure, at first, if that was leather, or body paint--except for the fact that she supposed there would have been a few more dangly bits if it was paint. She glanced down at herself, then, opening her blouse to reveal something very spandex-y, with a spiderweb print. The boxer shorts slid down off her hips, all of their own accord.
“Oh, there needs to be a photo of this,” she said, “In case it doesn’t last until Zach gets home. He said I reminded him of spiderwoman on our first date, I can’t not take a picture.”
Thor nodded. “You have a camera, surely? Lets get pics of us both!” He liked the idea, and he was liking this Zach.
Tessa hurried to grab camera, and cell phone, snapping a picture or two of Thor in his catsuit on the way back. “Don’t worry, I won’t tweet them unless you want them tweeted.”
Thor grinned. “I would prefer they stay private, though I wouldn’t mind a copy sent to me.” He had given her his email at one point, so she would be able to send them directly. He took the camera and took pics of her in that outfit, which was rather interesting.
“So, do you still want to try to trade?”
“They’re all yours,” she promised, “I hope Natasha will enjoy them as much as Zach will enjoy mine.” She grinned, and glanced from Thor’s outfit to hers. “You think you can fit into this?”
He hmmed. “I have no idea, but it might be fun trying, and those pictures, then, will be even more hilarious.”
“Well, alright, then.” She turned this way and that, looking over her shoulder for the outfit’s closures. “Maybe a better question is, how do I get out of this?”
Thor gently reached out and eyed the outfit, finding the seamed, and realizing how tight it was. He sighed. “I can get it off of you, but it will leave you naked.” He raised an eyebrow to her. “And I won't have much choice about seeing anything.”
“Alternately, we could just wait.”
Tessa snorted softly. “And I bet you’re naked under all that leather, too,” she said, shaking her head. “Accidents and seeing you at work are one thing, but I don’t think I want to push my luck.” Or take Zach’s trust for granted. “Besides, I think your curves are in all the wrong places for your outfit to be quite as flattering on me.”
She grinned. “You want to raid the kitchen while we await our next photo op?”
Thor nodded. “Sounds like a plan.” He grinned. “Lead on, my friend.”
Tessa led the way to the kitchen, resisting the urge to turn cartwheels. Her house wasn’t quite big enough for that. “Okay,” she said, poking her head in the fridge, I’ve got sandwich fixings, pasta salad, and half of a blueberry pie. Anything sound good?”
“Pasta Salad. And the pie.” he grinned at her. “And thank you.”
