Damian groaned as he shifted his position from where he was sitting on Alyssa’s bed against the headboard. They had been just hanging out, watching movies in her room most of the day while Nancy was out, doing whatever Nancy did on the weekends, but Damian’s back and neck had been sore all day ever since their training with Kitty the day before. “I kind of really want to have more dreams if it means I’ll get more abilities or whatever from them. Maybe then my back won’t hate me after you flip me.” Honestly, Alyssa had, had so many dreams in the short time that they’d known each other and Damian had only had a few and all he had to show from them was his sword.
“It’s not my fault! I’m lower than you, so I have a better sense of gravity for that sort of thing. Or something.” She sat up, looking at him, moving so she was kneeling behind him. “Here, take your shirt off. I’ll rub your shoulders, and maybe later you can rub my shin where you kicked me.” She stuck out her tongue at him, helping to take his shirt off.
“Hey, I didn’t kick you on purpose.” Damian said, taking his shirt off. Any other time he might have been a little reluctant, but he was in too much pain to not just go along with it. After he’d removed his shirt, he moved forward slightly, giving Alyssa a little more room behind him. “And just so you know, if Kitty told me to flip you, I wouldn’t have.” He knew that in Alyssa’s case, it was more out of self defense and chances were, Kitty wouldn’t ask Damian to flip Alyssa, because she was quite a bit smaller than him, but he liked teasing her.
“I know you didn’t. I mostly just flipped you on reflex, I’m sorry.” Alyssa leaned over to grab some of her Japanese Cherry Blossom scented lotion off of her nightstand, put some between her palms, and set to gently rubbing his shoulders. “Oh, wow, you weren’t kidding. You’ve got knots the size of small towns.”
Damian groaned as Alyssa’s fingers started pressing into his skin, “Is it bruised at all? I hit the ground pretty hard.” Luckily Kitty had taught him the right way to fall so that his head hadn’t hit the ground and his back had taken the full force of it. “Or maybe I need some kind of suit like my father has in the dreams. I think it’s got kevlar in it.” He smirked and rotated his neck.
“Not bruised, but super tight. And you don’t need kevlar, I’m not shooting you.” She smiled and kissed his earlobe gently, trying not to let his groaning get to her. This was therapeutic. She moved her fingers a bit further south, feeling for knots and gently manipulating them with her fingertips.
Damian closed his eyes as Alyssa’s fingers continued to work on the knots in his back, “That feels really good.” Her fingers felt amazing and the lotion smelled really good too. “Where did you learn how to do this?” He really hoped that she didn’t say that it was from Logan.
“Well, good. And I have no idea. I’m just sort of feeling for bumps and moving them. You’re knotty. I mostly just wanted to pick a lotion that didn’t smell too girlie for you.” She lightly kissed his ear again, contentedly watching the movie again. “I’m sorry, Damian. We should take next week off to heal up.”
“Well, you’re a natural,” Damian smirked, eyes still closed. She really was extremely good at this and he was really enjoying the way her fingers felt as they pressed into his skin. He couldn’t help but groan a little and press back against her fingers when she found a particularly tight spot, “Maybe we can just have Kitty go easy on us.” He didn’t want to wuss out on them.
“I could do with a day off too, love.” She moved a little bit closer when he leaned back against her, biting her lip and trying to keep herself from wantonly arching into him. “Kitty probably doesn’t know the meaning of going easy on someone. We can say we got mono.”
Damian laughed and glanced over his shoulder at her, “Then we’ll get like a month off.” He smirked, “But then that would also mean that one of us has been kissing someone else.” After all, mono was called the kissing disease and they’d been kissing each other long enough now without getting it; not that, that was really how you got mono, but he couldn’t help but tease her a little.
“You can actually get an airborne strain, it’s just a lot more rare.” Alyssa grinned, still rubbing his shoulders, but leaning forward to nibble his earlobe a bit. “And I don’t kiss anyone but you. No matter how many times Kitty asks.”
“Could always just tell her I’ve been kissing Bran,” Damian teased, smirking a little bit more, “I mean, considering our love affair and everything.” Damian had, had other friends back home, but he’d never been quite as close with another guy as he was with Bran. He never would have been able to joke around the way he did with Bran with his friends back home.
“Ah, yes. Your love is so torrid and romance novel.” Alyssa chuckled, still rubbing along Damian’s spine. “If I were a jealous sort, you’d be in trouble, young man.”
Damian let out a sound that was a mix between a groan and a laugh, “Oh really? And what would you do to me?” He couldn’t help but ask, it felt like the natural course of questioning when someone said those words.
“I’m sure you can imagine,” she smirked, turning his head around so she could kiss him. “I’d have to set you off of him. Obviously.”
Damian kissed her back, lips turned down into a pout when he pulled away, “You’d come between us? Isn’t that how Romeo and Juliet started?” He teased, leaning back to kiss her once again.
“That was parents, not another girl,” she murmured. “Romeo was using Juliet as a rebound, remember.” She moved from behind him to sit in his lap and kiss him properly. “So maybe he’s just your Rosaline.”
As Alyssa moved, Damian wrapped his arms around her small body and kissed her back, “But then again, it also didn’t end well for them and I don’t really feel like dying right now.” Damian’s back already felt a lot better, but he would be lying if he said that he didn’t miss the feel of Alyssa’s fingers along his spine.
“Oh, fine. No suicide pacts,” she murmured happily. Reaching up, she continued to rub his shoulders as they kissed, smiling a little to herself. She liked taking care of him.
“I like the sound of that.” He groaned a little into the kiss as she continued rubbing his shoulders. Her hands might have been small, but he had a feeling that working with her bow as well as the other training they’d gotten from Kitty had made her stronger.
The bow had given her a firmer grip, that was for sure. Harnessing pure light wasn’t easy. It could also have been the fact that her Rooder genes were kicking in. She smiled at the noise he made, trying harder not to climb into his lap outright.
“So, we’ll tell Kitty that we need a week off. I think she’ll understand.” Damian said, rotating his neck and shoulders, “Wow, that feels so much better. You’re awesome.” Next time he had any aches or pains he was definitely going to be asking Alyssa for a backrub.
“You’re welcome,” she grinned, leaning back and smiling at him. “I’ll tell her. I can tell her we just want some time.” She bit her lower lip as she looked at him, sighing contentedly. His shirt was off. She was in her happy place.
Damian watched Alyssa and it wasn’t hard to figure out where she was staring, “So, you had a fun time at the party and at your friend’s show?” The weekend had been rather eventful so far, Friday had been the party and the night before had been Mitchell’s performance at the coffee shop after their training with Kitty. Just one more reason why they had decided to spend Sunday lounging around.
“I did. Mitchell was brilliant.” She lounged and stretched her arms over her head so that her back popped a little. Her shirt rode up a little bit as well, but getting her back to pop was worth it. “And I had fun at the party. You were there.”
Damian smiled, “That was one crazy party. Pretty sure I saw my friend having sex under the kitchen table,” He’d felt a little awkward at the party for awhile, because Alyssa had known most of the people there, but he had spoken to Courf, who’s party it was and then he’d found out that Scoot was there too. At one point he and Alyssa had run into Scoot and his girlfriend Eponine and despite them clearly being drunk, they’d still managed to introduce each other. Damian was pretty sure that he was one of the only people there who hadn’t been drunk.
Alyssa wrinkled her nose. “Yeah, that part was ... awkward. Lots of people were doing that. I’m glad we left when we did, to tell the truth.”
“Guess that’s what happens at parties when most people are drinking.” Damian had stuck mostly to coke and if he did have any alcohol it had only been from Alyssa’s flask, because at least then he knew for sure what he was drinking, “It’d be kind of fun to have a party sometime.”
“We should do that, that’d be fun. And we could do BYOB so that people don’t end up quite that pissed.” She wrinkled her nose. “Nobody shagging on our beds, thanks. If someone’s going to shag on my bed, it’s going to be me, damn it.”
Damian laughed and leaned back against the headboard again, “Yeah, I don’t want anyone shagging in mine either. Or under the kitchen table.” Not to mention, it would be a lot more difficult to negotiate with cops if the people throwing the party were both underage. “It’d be easier if your mom was gonna be away or something. Otherwise, she’d probably want to be here and supply the alcohol and condoms.”
“She goes out of town sometimes for conventions. When she does, we’ll throw a little get together.” Alyssa wrinkled her nose. “She’d try to arrange a key party. I’m not joking.”
“Oh god. That’s just what we need. Not.” Damian could only imagine what else Nancy would try to do if she was around when they had a party, “Any idea when she’s going out of town again?” He asked, curious if she was going out of town anytime soon.
“Probably mid-April,” she beamed, rolling over onto her stomach. She let her cheek rest on his knee, looking up at him. “Why?”
“We should have a party then. We could even say it’s for my birthday.” There were only a few more weeks until Damian finally turned seventeen, then maybe he wouldn’t feel quite so young, compared to everyone else.
“I was planning on throwing you a birthday party, I could just use those decorations.” She closed her eyes and smiled, squeezing his hand. “Yes, I already have your gift. No, I won’t tell you where it is.”
Damian grinned and stroked her hair, “I can’t remember the last time I actually had a birthday party. Last few years it was just me and mom. Yeah, I’d go do something with my friends, but I think the last time I had an actual party was before my grandfather died.” Not that Damian had ever complained, because he had never wanted Talia to think that he wasn’t grateful for the things that she did give him.
“I’m making you a cake and everything. You still like red velvet, right?” She opened an eye. “No jokes about me burning it. I’ll have you know I’m actually a decent cook. Fended for myself long enough at school.”
“I definitely still like red velvet. And I’m sure it’ll be great, because you’re making it.” Damian smiled down at her, still stroking his fingers through her hair as his stomach growled softly, “Have we eaten today?” They’d spent so much of the day just lounging in her room that he couldn’t recall when they’d actually eaten last.
“Dunno. Want to order food?” She kissed his knee lightly, sitting up and stretching a bit before standing. “I can make you something.”
“Lets order a pizza from that place Kitty got it from,” Since finding out that there was a place nearby that had Chicago deep dish, Damian couldn’t get enough of it. It was a good thing that he was going to the gym in addition to the training, otherwise he’d wind up getting fat.
Alyssa chuckled. “You’ve been craving it too, huh. May I get anchovies on my side?” She didn’t really want them, she just wanted to know what he’d say. She was a bit of a shit disturber.
Damian wrinkled his nose and pushed her hair in front of her face, “No anchovies. That’s gross.” He reached towards her bedside table where he’d left his phone and looked for the number he’d gotten from Kitty and dialed. There were not going to be any anchovies on his pizza.
She giggled, pouting out her lower lip and blowing the hair away. “You’re lucky I’m teasing, love.” Her red-tipped fingernails ran lightly over his hip, gone before he could complain. “Sausage, please, no, that’s not an innuendo.”
Damian placed the order then placed his phone back on the bedside table, “You do know that I’m gonna have to put a shirt on to answer the door, right?” He smirked at her and ran his fingers through her hair in an attempt to fix it.
“I can get it.” She was still lightly running her fingers over him, more loving than arousing. “Don’t deprive me of my joy, Damian Wayne.” She smirked up at him before she leaned in to kiss his hip.
Alyssa was the only person who knew anything about Bruce and Damian’s decision to use Wayne now instead of Head. However, considering the fact that Damian was having a difficult time finding his father, he had been thinking about officially having his last name changed to Wayne. He wasn’t sure how to do that exactly, but he was sure that he could figure it out. “Okay, fine. I’ll let you have your eye candy.” He bit his bottom lip as Alyssa kissed his hip.
“Let me?” She nipped gently, letting her tongue trace a light line over his skin. “Think I can convince you to keep your shirt off, you know.”
Damian’s muscles contracted where Alyssa’ tongue moved along his skin and he bit his bottom lip to muffle a groan, “Stop trying to seduce me. It’s not going to work,” Except for the fact that he really wanted it to.
“I’m not trying to seduce you.” She kissed a bit more inward, wishing she could undo his jeans and kiss lower, but she respected his boundaries too much. Instead she just nipped gently.
“Then what exactly are you trying to do?” Part of Damian wanted to just do it now, but he knew that he still wasn’t ready and he didn’t want to regret anything later. “Cause isn’t that what people are usually trying to do when they’re down there?”
“I wouldn’t mind going down on you, Damian, but I don’t want to do anything you don’t want me to do.” She looked up at him, eyes wide, pupils dilated with arousal.
Damian was so close to just giving in, but in the end, he brought his hand down to cup Alyssa’s cheek and leaned down a little as he drew her face towards him and kissed her. It was a brief kiss, but it was sweet and Damian gave her a small smile, “I’d like you to, but I’m just not ready yet.”
“I know.” She smiled at him, kissing him lightly and taking his shirt. She put it back on him before kissing him again. “I love you, Damian.”
Damian smiled and kissed her again, “I love you too.” They hadn’t said it much outloud, because they didn’t really have to. They just knew how they felt about each other, but it was nice to hear it. For awhile there, Damian hadn’t thought it was possible to love someone after only a few weeks, but after the whole song for Logan thing had happened, Damian knew for sure that he was in love with Alyssa.
