John Watson does not resemble a hedgehog. (what_son) wrote in valarlogs,
Watson wasn't so sure how good library jewel thieves would be at attacking anyway, but mentally prepared himself for anything even as he slipped down behind Sherlock. He regretted keeping his tie on for only a short moment.
There should have been other things he regretted, here. Like allowing himself to be dragged around town -- technically illegally entering peoples' homes. People who Sherlock assumed to be guilty of something, but John couldn't vouch for one way or the other. But he trusted his dark, eccentric roommate, and he felt sickly alive when they did things like these. He should have felt guilty, but he just couldn't seem to manage it. It was possible that he was just a terrible doctor.
The place was a mess, and John made a face, even as he peeked around a little more. So far, no trouble.
