The thing about being Obi-Wan's best friend was that you weren't just signing up as a friend, but as a brother, practically tethered to Obi-Wan. Even when Obi-Wan was silent, Loras could sense that something was wrong. There had been a sense of near euphoria in the house since Renly's return to health (and their first night of intimacy together), and Faiza becoming part of Obi-Wan's life.
It was inevitable, really, that it would come crashing at some point. Loras had expected it, but he wasn't sure what had happened. Perhaps it was Obi-Wan's connection to Kitty or something to do with that boy, Anakin, being on the net. Obi-Wan's silence and expression was all Loras needed, but when Loras came back from his run that morning and could still feel Obi-Wan in the house, he knew it was more than the usual Obi-Wan problems. He drank water first, then pulled his damp hair down from the tie he'd put it in, then went to find his friend.
