The flirting went right over Tara's head. She grinned at Jack's response though, and laughed a little. "I suppose it isn't her fault, then. Can't really help herself."
At the next question, Tara made a bit of a face. It wasn't a bad one, just one that indicated she was thinking of how to explain that. "Well," she began, shrugging as she crossed her arms. "That's a complicated answer. To be honest, I've never really had a permanent home. I was an army brat," she said. "But I spent a good chunk of my life in England. Technically I was born and am an American, but plenty of cultures later, I don't think that would put justice to where I'm from."
She shifted her weight, back to smiling. She was a happy person, she just couldn't help it! "But apart from the last five years here, I spent nearly 4 years in England. That was the longest I've stayed anywhere." It was a long story. That's why her accent was so light -- it was a bit of a mix of everything.
