“Oh! A doggy!” came from an excited-sounding girl as her peaceful (thank goodness, peaceful was so boring!) walk in the park was interrupted. Tara watched as the dog darted past, right through her feet, nearly tripping the brunette as she went. Though a bit surprised at first, she couldn’t help but smile widely at the dog’s enthusiasm. Animals could have such focus if they wanted. Perhaps it was focus on fairly unimportant things such as squirrels, but she applauded their effort anyway.
Tara stopped on the path and watched as Janet played with the squirrel. Goodness, she was excited! Tara was trying to think if she’d ever been so excited about life before. Though she probably hadn’t been barking, drooling (or she could have been), or chasing a squirrel at the time, Tara was good at excitement. She’d probably been close to Janet’s level at some point.
