Grantaire swayed where he stood. It wasn't that her words had any profound impact on his point-of-view or that she'd made him think any more seriously about his personal situation, but the wine (among other things) was catching up to him in a way that no longer agreed with his pacing. His voice softened. "All over the place, you say...?"
Attempting to straighten his shoulders, Grantaire folded his arms again, looking not unlike he was trying to hold himself together. "The contradiction is key. It does not seem to make sense to you, but that is the way we lot are best suited as friends. Do not attempt to cheapen it by applying logic."
At the last comment, he tilted his head and considered her with narrowed eyes. "I have too much heart but for one purpose. If that makes me weak, then so be it."
