The nurse responded almost immediately, since the alarm had gone off at the station too. Pepper was pushed aside, and while Tony did his best to fight off anyone in arm's reach, one of the larger woman managed to get some sort of sedative into his IV. Within seconds, he had fallen back to to the bed, and the throat tube removed.
"He'll be out for a bit," one said to Pepper, shaking her head slightly. "They always fight it when they wake up. But he seems to be breathing fine on his won, so this is a good sign."
Which just was about the weirdest thing to hear in the world, since Tony had just tried his best to kill every single one of them trying to remove it. The nurses filed out, and Tony rested against his pillows again, looking peculiarly vulnerable as people in hospital beds tended to do.
