Rating: PG!

Tink was just coming back from lunch when she heard a strange sound coming down the block. Something familiar, and yet she couldn’t place it. She headed out of the garage and into the parking lot, then poked around a bit. It hadn’t been that long of a day that she should be hearing things.
Indeed -- it was the sound of Tara’s car turning off (and turning on), a mystery that as of yet had still not been solved. Tara had brought the car to many car mechanics around the city, and was no more hopeful that this one could help more than the rest. But she figured she would try, at the very least, and hope for some good news.
Turning the car off, she stepped out of it and saw the blonde looking about. This must be the owner, or perhaps someone that worked in the shop. “Hello!” she called out brightly, waving at Tink. She looked a little embarrassed about the state of her little blue Toyota. The poor thing had been wheezing like crazy, and was only getting worse. “I’ve got a bit of, umm. Car trouble.” She laughed.
Tink broke into a huge grin at the sight of the woman coming out of the car. She didn’t own the place, she just worked there, but someday maybe she’d have her own Garage. That was a cool thought.
“Hi!” She said, brightly, waving her hand high in the air, even though the woman wasn’t that far away. “What seems to be the trouble?” She asked, breaking into an even brighter grin. She loved using the cliche.
Tara would have appreciated the cliche had she not been, well, Tara. She smiled at the other girl, placing her hands on her hips as she looked at her poor, reliable Corolla. “It’s been making this really weird.... Woosh woosh sound,” she said, trying to mimick it to the best of her ability. “It happens whenever I turn it on or off.”
“A Woosh Woosh noise, huh?” Tink said, giving a nod. “Well, I’ve got an idea. Let’s go ahead and turn her on.” She added, moving closer to the car. “Let’s see if my idea is the right one.” Tink couldn’t really diagnose a car problem from a human impersonation of the car, but she’d heard the noise when Tara drove up. She could try and figure it out for her. And if anyone could fix it, Tink could.
Tara pulled open the driver’s side door and turned the key in the ignition, leaving the door open. The noise sounded out and she just looked at Tink, shrugging as if she had no idea what was happening. Which was very true -- Tara was completely clueless.
“I’ve no clue why it’s happening,” she told her, letting out a sigh. “It’s been getting worse lately, too.”
“We’ll get to the bottom of it.” Tink said, then bit down on her tongue as she popped the hood to examine the engine. She leaned over, checking... engine stuff. “Turn her over one more time for me, would ya?” She called out to Tara with her head still under the hood.
Which she did, sitting patiently behind the wheel as Tink continued taking a look. The wheezing sound was nothing new to Tara, though it was a bit unsettling. She’d been hearing it in her special dreams too, though she suspected it might have slipped in from real life. Little did she know.
“Anything?” she called out, poking her head out to see around the hood and watch Tink working.
“I’ve got an idea.” Tink said, coming around from under the hood. She was wiping her hands on a rag that looked like it’d seen better days. “Do you want to leave her here for me to investigate? I’m not even sure what the problem is exactly yet, but in a couple of hours I can have her diagnosed.”
“Sure!” Tara chimed brightly, leaving the key in the ignition as she stepped out of the little blue car. “I’ve got my afternoon free, shouldn’t have a problem finding a Starbucks to hang around in.” Or maybe she’d call Gwen or John to come entertain her for a bit. That would be a grand idea.
“There’s a great little coffee shop not too far from here. Down about a block on the left.” Tink said, giving her a smile. “Let me get you to fill out some paperwork before you go. I’ll get your phone number, too, and I can call you when she’s ready to come pick up.”
She led the way over to the little office while one of her coworkers came to move the car into the actual garage building, and grabbed a clipboard to hand over to Tara. “Just need your name, address, stuff like that.”
Following Tink to the office, Tara took the clipboard and began filling out all of the fields. She smiled when she completed it, making sure she had recorded her cell phone number clearly. “All good?” she handed it over, crossing her arms over her chest. The keys were still sitting in the ignition, and she had all of Tara’s personal information.
Tink glanced down at the clipboard. “Perfect! Everything seems to be in order.” She gave Tara a grin, then moved to walk her back out onto the street. “I’ll phone you soon when your car’s ready to be picked up.”
