Spock could pick up on a not-so-subtle hint. He smirked, more amused by Uhura keeping things close to her chest than annoyed. There was something respectable about her keeping her friend's secrets. And Spock didn't feel they were at a level where she was expected to divulge much to him.
Taking her hint, he shifted the topic of conversation (rather lamely) to himself. "I've been well. I'm writing a paper right now. It's... dull." There was no way around it, even the topics Spock found interesting were a little boring at times and he was right in the middle of writing about new coding programs. "I'm looking forward to finishing it and the ends of the semester. As embarrassing as it sounds, I think I'd rather just focus on some blogging." If he wasn't entirely careful, Uhura was going to realize what sort of a nerd he was.
