"There’s probably been a ridiculous spike in the number of sightings of ‘vigilantes in miniskirts’"
Who: Kaioh Michiru, Tenoh Haruka, and Chiba Mamoru
What: At the hospital after she’s come to.
When: Late afternoon the 7th of February.
Where: Hospital
Rating: R to be safe, because it does kind of go into what Michiru was put through.
Status: Complete.
Michiru had been taken to the hospital, that much she remembered. She didn’t remember the tests they did to determine what had been in her system. For the better, she didn’t remember them resetting the bones from her breaks and casting them, her leg held higher by metal wires from the ceiling so it angled the best way. She didn’t remember the wire or IVs meant to keep her hydrated, with nutrients, and to keep her watched over.
What little she does remember of the entire time is she can feel Haruka there. Hours later she felt her hand taken hold of it and it caused her to stir. Despite the awkwardness that was the thing in her nostrils to help her breathe, she turned the direction she felt her energy and slowly opened her eyes. The moment she laid eye on her, they began to water with joyful tears. “Haruka...”
Sure, her jaw ached a little from the repeated kicks to the face before, but like hell was she going to have that hold her back from speaking to the woman she loved. She had to reassure her this was very real and not a dream after all. She knew far too well how Haruka’s mind worked with things like this. “You saved me.”
It hadn’t been a pleasant wait. True, Haruka had known things would probably end up well, but... that didn’t stop her getting worried. It was only the fact that the link was back that was keeping her grounded, keeping her completely aware that this was reality.
“It wasn’t all me...” Honestly, she probably could’ve managed it alone, but that superguy had been... kind of handy, really. “I’m sorry I couldn’t get there sooner.”
Michiru ran her thumb over the back of Haruka’s hand. “Don’t be... They put things in that... Made the use of the link impossible.” Groaned and tensed her body, trying to ebb down the pain. Thankfully, she was a Senshi so it meant she would heal faster. “It wasn’t your fault... It’s so good to see you.” Tears began to fall down her cheek, far too overjoyed to be near her again.
It was so, so tempting to kiss her. It was only out of concern that she’d make things worse that Haruka was holding back. “I promise, nothing like this will happen again... and I’m going to make damned sure I keep that promise.”
“Haruka... Please don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault your fans are crazy...” Tensed again and tried her best to sit up into a more comfortable position. Damn this, all of it. Michiru lifted her free hand to wipe her tears away, making a motion to beckon her closer.
If the crazy fans weren’t her fault, whose fault were they? Haruka did have to wonder. She shifted closer, trying to ignore the lingering feelings of guilt. “I just feel like I could’ve done more... even if I don’t know how.”
Rolling her eyes the green haired woman gently pulled her lover down so she could push her lips to hers, tears starting to well over again. She was entirely allowed, it had been so long and without the link it felt even longer. Michiru tangled a hand gently in her hair keeping hold of the hand she’d had gripped in her fingers. She wasn’t going to let Haruka move away for quite a while.
That was definitely one way to distract Haruka from whatever the hell her mind was coming up with. She kept her response gentle, not wanting to accidentally hurt her - she’d been through enough in the time they’d been separated.
Like she could cause too much more discomfort. She kept their lips close, trying her best to kiss despite pain in her cheek and jaw. It felt so good, her touch, scent, her warmth. When Michiru eventually broke the kiss, she pushed her head onto her shoulder. “I missed you so much...”
Being this close to her again was enough to make this feel a little like a dream. She’d missed it more than words could possibly say, missed every little thing - it’d been hell, really, but she wasn’t going to admit it. “I never stopped looking, you know...”
“I believe that...” Ran her fingers gently through her hair, trying her best to not look as much in pain as she was. Didn’t help that the basic same drug that would help with her pain was what they got her addicted on. Not that she’d readily admit that to Haruka. She had enough on her mind.
Haruka could assume that much anyway. It probably wasn’t anything their Senshi powers couldn’t help with, though. “There’s probably been a ridiculous spike in the number of sightings of ‘vigilantes in miniskirts’, or whatever it is they call us.”
“Fun... Wait. You wore the skirt?” Blinked and looked at her, trying her best to not jump to too many conclusions. She tensed when her muscle in her leg twitched and Haruka could probably feel the pain spike. Damn breaks. Damn kidnappers. “I want them imprisoned.”
“Everything else took too much time. The skirt’s pretty much instantaneous.” Maybe, just maybe, she was getting more used to it, more used to the concept of fighting whilst in it. She’d probably deny it if asked, though. “I think that’s being dealt with. Don’t worry.”
Only because she’d been pretty much banned from hurting them too badly.
“They...” She began but quickly stopped and put her head down, digging her nails into her upper arm and tried to push the images out of her head. How was she meant to be a swimmer now when she had nightmares of drowning?
Haruka gently pulled her hands away, pressing a kiss against one. She hated to see her lover suffering like this... “Whatever they did, I’ll help you through it all. Step by step. No matter how long it takes.”
Michiru cringed and tried to stifle the fact she wanted to cry. “They did waterboarding. You know what that is...?” Bit her lip and tried her best not to show just how terrifying to memories alone were.
“...I know what it is.” And honestly, she was regretting not hurting them more. “There’ll be a way I can help you. Might be hard, but... I’ll figure it out.”
“I give them props. They did their research...” She leaned against the pillows and sighed heavily. “I’m hungry.... Can I eat?” Looked up with worried eyes, an expression she had when asking the two women if she could.
That was almost heartbreaking. “I’ll get one of the nurses. I’m sure they’ll get you something.”
“Alright... I’d like something that doesn’t involve bread... Or... Canned peaches.” Bit her lip and shuddered, had too many of them for her liking so far.
“I think that’s easy enough to avoid.” Haruka kissed her gently, and briefly. “I’ll be back soon. Promise.”
Michiru tensed when she set off, not wanting to be left alone. She stopped and brought her hand back to her person and nodded, biting hard at her lip. This sucked, a lot.
It wasn’t like Haruka was gone all too long. She’d had the fortune of one of the nurses being relatively close by when she’d left the room. When she returned, she was quick to get back to her side. “Should be dealt with soon.”
“Good...”She took hold of her hand to keep her there and tried her best not to show how desperate to keep her there she was. She was more than allowed to be this way, correct? After all she’d been through... And yet. “Are you alright mentally, my love? I know being without me so long must have done terrible things...” She cared so much more about Haruka’s well being than anything else.
Definitely more than allowed. Haruka would’ve been surprised if she wasn’t like this, in all honesty. “I’m fine. More concerned about you than anything else.”
“The two did some terrible things... I never want to see a baseball bat ever again... Or.” sighed and lifted the hospital gown. There was still a faint mark from the iron. “Why would they even brand me. It doesn’t make any sense at all.”
“...I don’t know, Michiru. Honestly.” To be entirely honest, Haruka didn’t want to know. The less she knew about the inner workings of her more insane fans, the better.
“Hold me... Please?” Moved a little, glad she was put into a bed larger than she needed. It was enough that Haruka could move in close and be comfortable still. “I need it..” Started to cry again, pushing her face into her hands.
Haruka moved quickly, lightly pulling her into her arms. “It’s going to be okay, Michiru... I’m going to make sure of that.”
Held tight to her midsection, not able to be too sensitive to the binder or anything. She’d care at any other time, but right now she just wanted to be comforted and with her as close as possible.
Honestly, Haruka could take the binder being touched. She could handle anything for Michiru’s sake.
Michiru pushed her face into her chest and held tight as she could, trying to not be too desperate. She couldn’t help it. She missed her so very much.
Again, Haruka would’ve been worried if she wasn’t a little bit like this. She held her tighter, lightly rubbing at her back out of instinct. “Cling as much as you need. I’m not going anywhere.”
“You better not...” held tightly, occasionally tensing when things hurt the most. She couldn’t help it. “How much did you miss me, my love?”
“More than words could ever say.” Trying to sleep on that first night alone had been damn near impossible. She’d barely managed it beyond that, in all honesty - their link being completely and utterly dead did nothing good for her state of mind.
“I almost gave up hope near the end, I am sorry...” Michiru cringed and held into her, eyes welling over with tears again. She couldn’t help it. This was not a way she wanted her new year to begin with, and fear for the rest of the year.
She couldn’t blame her, honestly. Haruka’d never stopped looking, but it’d taken her too long - it’d been the most painful thing she’d had to go through since meeting Michiru, and she could only hope it never happened again. “There’s nothing to be sorry about...”
Let out the most heartbreaking noise she’s ever made, in this life at least, and the tears fell faster. “I’m afraid to fall asleep but I’m so tired... I don’t want this to be a dream.” Bit her bottom lip rather hard and tensed hearing footsteps entering the room. She gasped and looked around rather scared until she realised who it was. “Ah... Mamoru-san.”
It was natural that he’d be the one to come see her, right? Even if he hadn’t technically graduated yet, Haruka had made a deal with him a few months back: he’d be their private doctor, simply because he’d understand them and their rather advanced rate of healing.
“Not a bad time, is it? I’ve been meaning to check in...”
Michiru slowly shook her head, pulling her hands away. “No... Just feeling the aftermath of it all.” Looked up to Haruka before kissing her gently on the cheek. She laid back into the pillow so he could do the checking over of her. “They really did a number on me, huh?” Feigning control over her emotions with the mask she’d perfected to a tee during the week.
That didn’t fool Haruka in the slightest, naturally. Mamoru did his best to do his checks as quick as possible, not wanting to interrupt their time together too much. He knew that if something similar’d happened to Usagi, he’d want to spend as much time as humanly possible with her and her alone.
“You’re lucky you’re a Senshi.” He could say that much for definite. “I’d hate to think what this’d be like on a normal human being.”
Michiru was more than thankful for him going quickly, the less people touched her right not (that weren’t Haruka of course) the better. At his comment she bit her lip and nodded. “I guess so... It would probably have killed me had I not been a senshi, correct?” And no sooner did she finish saying it did she regret it. She bit her lip and looked to Haruka.
Mamoru could only shrug. True, he probably could’ve answered, but... it was best not to. Especially considering the look that Haruka’d given him. “It would’ve probably hurt a lot more, at least?”
“I can’t even begin to imagine it would hurt worse than when they first did it. The sound...”Michiru brought her hands up to hold just over her ears. “The god awful crack echoed off the walls... It nearly made me sick to my stomach...” And there she was, focusing on it all. She couldn’t help it. Everything was still so fresh in her mind. It had felt like decades and only a few hours all at the same time through the drugged haze.
Focusing on it like this couldn’t be good for her. Haruka gently took her hand again, squeezing lightly - she had to at least try to distract her, before something bad happened. “Nothing like that’s ever going to happen again... I promise you.”
And she flinched at her hands getting held and looked to Haruka, her eyes dripping with fear and she scrambled to get safe. By means of trying to get under the blankets and as tiny as possible.
“I’m not going to hurt you...” Honestly, the thought alone hurt Haruka enough. To actually do it would probably kill her - if not physically, then mentally. “I could never...”
The green haired woman shook her head and covered her face with the pillow digging her fingers into the plush fabric. It took her a few minutes but she managed to calm down and pull the pillow to rest in her lap. “Forgive me... I should not be reacting this way.”
Haruka shook her head. “There’s nothing to forgive, Michiru... just... let me know what I can do for you, if you think of anything...” Honestly, she was hesitant to try touching again after that - could you really blame her?
“I... I don’t know. I’m just still so very tired.” Sighed heavily and looked to Mamoru. “Do you have anything to aid me in falling asleep and not feeling like I’m drowning?” Michiru tipped her head to the side, wincing when the stitches on her temple tugged.
“I can find you something. Just give me some time.”
See, this is why having a private doctor was useful. Haruka honestly didn’t know what the two of them would do without him.
“Thank you, seriously... Few doctors would be so willing after...” Sighed and looked to him before breaking down into sobs again. She covered her face with her eyes. “Why me... what did I do to deserve it. I’ve done nothing to them.. And they said it was because I was with Haruka...” Stopped right there and just went quiet, not wishing to cause guilt in her lover.
It wasn’t something Mamoru could really comment on, in all honesty. Haruka gently pulled her into her arms when she started crying, just in an attempt to help - she had to do something.
It was a little late to avoid making her feel guilty. The note they’d left had made it more than clear that Michiru’d only been taken because Haruka’d dared to ask her to marry her. Honestly, it was almost enough to make her hate some of her fans... “Some people take their obsessions a little too far... I can only hope they were the only ones who’d do that..”
“So do I...” Held tight around her and sobbed. “Why didn’t you come sooner...” This was simply venting in the heat of the moment, but she couldn’t help it. She needed to rest, refocus, and see someone about all of this before it ate away at her mental state. “I called for you...”
It wasn’t like Haruka hadn’t looked. There were nights where she’d gone completely without sleep, spending hours just searching everywhere she could think of... “I tried. Whatever they had you on completely blocked our link... made it almost impossible to find you.”
“I was so scared and cold... I missed your warmth. I missed you so much, Haruka. I thought I had died and I wanted to die because I couldn't feel you.” She looked up into her eyes, the hues of her eyes glittering. “I need you more than I thought I did.”
Haruka held her tighter, unsure of what else she could do. “The link being blocked made this almost impossible... I couldn’t face the thought of a world without you. Couldn’t sleep half the time, might’ve done a few stupid things to try and ignore it...”
The ‘stupid things’ mostly involved going out as Uranus and picking fights, but that was quickly becoming less stupid and more insanely fun.
