"Well," Enjolras considered where to start with this. "for background there, you're a terribly drunk cynic all of the time, and not in the same way you are here." In this world? It was annoying sometimes, but tolerable when Grantaire chose to...indulge, and it didn't hurt anyone, even if Enjolras didn't exactly understand it. "For whatever it's worth, you're with us, even though you don't exactly care about what we're doing. In this particular dream..."
There was a pause as Enjolras gathered his thoughts there. "Well, I was sending the lot of you out, to talk to people, spread information for the cause. We needed someone to visit the Barriere du Maine. I don't know if it's come up for you yet, but the sculptors and painters and marbleworkers tend to gather there. Tended? I don't know if it exists today or anything. Paris got weird after Napoleon the third." He'd checked that out online, out of curiosity. "Apparently they wanted to avoid things like barric..."
And Enjolras stopped himself there. Just because he'd mentioned barricades in the dreams didn't mean that he was going to mention them to Grantaire here. At this point, he hadn't seen the barricade itself, but the image Grantaire had posted, and the idea of the barricade of 1830 that had entered into his mind were...similar at least.
"Well, regardless. We were all going out to speak to people and there was no-one else to visit them. You begged me to consider sending you. I didn't trust you very much, for a lot of very good reasons at the time, but for whatever reason, I decided I'd give you a chance. You're...really good at ranting in that world." He added, and this time a rueful little laugh escaped. But really, the situation was, it was sort of funny, if it hadn't been so serious at the time.
"I found you playing dominoes with them when I went to see how you'd done. So,seriously. One job, Grantaire." And Enjolras's voice was clearly teasing here, at least a little. Or attempting to. "...Really though, the way I treat you there could use some work. ...And I suppose I know it's not the kind of thing you would do to us here."
