Valentine's Day Horror Show
Who: Glinda Upland and everybody :)
When: Valentine's Day
Where: Independent Movie Theatre in Irvine
What: Alternative Valentine's Day
Rating: TBC
Status: In Progress
Notes: As with the Oliver thread please feel free to start your own subthreads in this. Don't feel that you have to include Glinda though she is, of course, available if you want her.

Glinda was very excited about the day, everything was set up and when she walked into the theatre the smell of popcorn was already permeating the air. She checked the movie line up with the projectionist - they only had two of the screens showing films, hopefully people would enjoy one of the two. Glimmer had done an amazing job on the film line up and everything looked brilliant, not one dud film among them. She'd hired two people for the snack bar, they didn't need to issue tickets or take money at all so they were literally there to serves people soda, popcorn, hotdogs and anything else they wanted.

She had made sure there was a big sign outside and plastered the address and playlist all over the net. Unlocking the doors she turned on all the lights and smiled.

Now it was just a waiting game.

There was an Ollie, bright and early, and grinning as he made his way into the theatre. "This place looks amazing!" he commented, giving Glinda a bright smile. He was looking forward to today, once he'd actually remembered that Valentines Day had been today. It wasn't like he couldn't set his schedule, so he'd taken care of that, and was sort of relieved he and Judy were avoiding the Valentines Day thing this year. It would have just been awkward after the first date, really, so casual was the way to go. He'd text her later, he decided, but for now? there were grisly movies to watch. "Best programming ever!" he added, glad to see this had all been pulled off. He was going to enjoy this.

Glinda greeted Ollie happily, "Thank you" she told him, "We worked hard to make sure it was just right" And they really had. So she was pleased he thought it looked so good soon after he had arrived.

"Oh well I can't take all the credit for that" Glinda added, "Glimmer, the girl whose idea it all was, sorted that out. She's in class this morning but should be here this afternoon" she explained.

"I have to admit I'm surprised to see Oliver Green here" she teased, "No girl on Valentine's Day? I refuse to believe that's due to a lack of offers"

Tinkerbell and ANYONE! :)

Tink wasn't sure how much she liked horror movies, but it was better than hanging around the garage, better than going home alone. She wanted to be around people, but not have to talk to anyone who was all lovey dovey, staring into someone else's eyes, or worse, kissing. Smack-smacking and sucking face. Gross. KEEP IT TO YOURSELVES, PEOPLE.

Maybe Tink was just a bit bitter that she was on her own this holiday.

She arrived to the theater and was instantly craving popcorn.

Vala

Vala sauntered into the theatre, handbag on one arm and electric cigarette in the other. She was trying to quit; it was, after all, a horrible habit that she had had since fairly early in high school. She turned the cigarette off and put it in it's case and then her handbag as she eyed the other people in the foyer.

She had decided to pop in for a little while before meeting up with the girls at Always and see what all the fuss was about. She'd liked the look of the invite she'd seen in the net, but she wasn't really prepared for quite how much pink there was...everywhere. She saw a young blonde lady off to her left and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hi...umm, I'm Vala," she held out a hand to shake. "Are you Glinda?"

Tink jumped at the woman's voice coming from behind her and spun around. "Hello, Vala!" She said, then shook her hand. "No, I'm Tink. I think... I think Glinda's around here somewhere. I'm not sure which one she is, though. I guess she must look like me." She added, grinning brightly.

Roger never been entirely a fan of Valentine's Day. It wasn't that he disliked it - an over abundance of candy and cheesiness was nice now and then. It was more that he never felt he took part in it enough.

That being decided, he figured he may as well try out this movie thing. It would do some good to make new connections anyway, and he didn't want to always be the weird, awkward guy. He got a soda and a bag of popcorn, then settled into a back row that was still more or less empty while everyone got their refreshments.

Horatio/Glinda

Horatio wasn't really early by any means. After all, he still had classes to teach, and there was a matter of planning the overseas study trip for the coming semesters still, but he'd told Glinda he'd be there, so. There he was. He still felt like he owed her something. Besides, it was either watch movies here or watch them at home on Netflix.

He arrived in one of his newer ensembles, hoping she'd find it humourous that he put the effort in, all things considered. Also, after a moment of second thought, he picked up some flowers for her, too. Nothing too Valentine's Day (he didn't want to come off the wrong way), but something he thought was a pretty arrangement with lots of pink that she might hopefully enjoy.

Pink was definitely Glinda's favorite color so he was safe in hoping she'd enjoy them.

She smiled brightly as she saw him enter and skipped straight over to hug him, "You made it" she exclaimed, "I'm so glad. And don't you look simply amazing" she added, happy he'd worn one of the new outfits and inexplicably proud of him too.

"I had some help dressing myself."

He flashed a grin and bent over a bit to return the hug, then motioned to the flowers.

"These are for you. To continue to show my gratitude."

It must have looked rather amusing to anybody watching them as he needed to stoop to hug her back, not that Glinda cared one jot.

"Well now you are a sweetheart" she told him with a brilliant smile as she took the flowers, "And these are beautiful, look how well you picked the colors too" she added teasingly.

"I've been known to have my moments," he teased back. "For some reason I got the idea you like pink. I'm glad to see I was right."

Theo glanced around, then nodded a little.

"Quite the event you managed to pull off. Has it been pretty busy?"

Glinda laughed at his teasing, "And I thought I hid it so well" she joked, "Maybe you just have great instincts"

She smiled brightly, "It does look good doesn't it?" she replied proudly, "We've had a steady stream of people so far, I didn't expect many in the day what with it being a work day and all but there's been more than I thought" That evening would definitely be the busier part of the day.

"I'm just saying!"

But he laughed, too. And shrugged a little.

"Maybe you could start some sort of Jill-Of-All-Trades business. You'll plan the party and dress the guests, too. Special discount of parties of ten or more."

"I don't think there could be," Theo replied, giving Glinda a bit of a grin.

"Have you been here all day, then? Greeting the masses as they come. Do you need something to eat besides popcorn and candy, I could run out and grab you something, if you'd like. So you won't have to leave your post."

His response made Glinda laugh before she nodded in answer to his question. "All day" she replied, "Oh you are a love but I'm sure you'd rather watch a movie than do a sandwich run for me" she smiled. Popcorn was a valid lunch and dinner meal, she was sure.

"One sandwich, as per the lady's specifications."

Gin Ichimaru / whatever's fine by me!
[info]fox_face

Gin showed up fashionably late and wearing his customary wide grin of amusement, like he knew a joke that he never told to anyone else. He wasn't dressed up, wearing his customary white clothes, and he stopped off at the snack bar for some popcorn.

Valentine's Day wasn't something he ever celebrated before, but he never turned down a horror movie. Gore was something he saw as a form of entertainment and a byproduct of his source of employment. No big.

He was tipping his head back as he tossed pieces of popcorn in the air, catching them in his open mouth or on his tongue.
