Tara loved pancakes. Okay, she loved anything that was sweet. That’s why she’d agreed to come to this. To be quite honest, she and John were a bit awkward right now. They’d gotten upset with each other the day before, and Tara didn’t really know how to deal with that. She wasn’t good at having friends around long enough to get into rows with.
Oblivious to the fact that Gwen considered herself the third wheel to her and John (they weren’t even dating, and according to Tara, they hadn’t even kissed yet!), she was chatting the blonde’s ear off. Because it’s Tara and she’s about to eat a whole ton of syrup. AKA sugar. She gets excited about that. Also, she felt a bit awkward around John. She had to cover it up somehow.
“Oh I do love Pancake Tuesday,” she was saying, smiling at Gwen. “My parents and I would always celebrate it when we lived in England. I think it’s a much better idea than Mardi Gras. I’d much rather eat pancakes than earn beads!” and on and on and on. “Wouldn’t you agree? Pancakes are wonderful!”
