Merry entered the room and hesitated, door still on the knob. He tilted his head and wondered if he was really in the right room. The woman at the desk--or conference table--appeared distracted, maybe even unprepared. "Excuse me?" Merry gave her a little wave. "Hello?"
He crossed to the table and dropped his shoulder bag into a empty chair. "Miss Eadig? Hi. I'm Merry."
The previous CEO of this division had the distinction of not being related to the Chairman of the Board. It may have been a Freudian slip that Merry had omitted his family name.
He took a seat. "This your office?" he asked, playfully grinning.
