Adrienne's grip loosened on Emma's arm and her hand fell quickly to her side. She appeared to be caught by surprise enough that she didn't have anything to say to Pepper. Emma, cooler and better at thinking on her feet, stopped glaring long enough at her sister to glance at Pepper. "We're quite alright," she said, flashing an icy smile and returning a hard gaze to her sister. Pepper barely registered on Emma's radar; she was simply too tired of family drama to really care about witnesses by this point. "But thank you for your concern."
